pastormiked -> pray for Ray Boltz... (9/13/2008 1:12:59 PM)

I accessed this link from averyfineline.com...

[Admin's Note: The following link goes to a homosexual website that interviewed Ray Boltz. Click at your own risk.]

robinashley -> RE: pray for Ray Boltz... (9/13/2008 3:07:46 PM)

Wow...I did not see that coming.

Sing2him -> RE: pray for Ray Boltz... (9/13/2008 3:11:11 PM)

Wow... that is suprizing...disappointing...confusing...and a whole bunch of other reactions all rolled up into one!

zmanfan38 -> RE: pray for Ray Boltz... (9/13/2008 3:15:10 PM)

Hubby and I read the entire article with our jaws on the floor...wow. We're praying for Mr. Boltz.

iluvatar -> RE: pray for Ray Boltz... (9/13/2008 4:14:30 PM)

It'll be interesting to see over the next couple decades whether medicine is able to determine what causes people to be wired certain ways. Obviously, acting out on an urge is a choice, but as to what causes the urges in the first place... I suspect there's a lot we don't understand.

-Dan.

Kath -> RE: pray for Ray Boltz... (9/13/2008 4:54:40 PM)

Moving from SG to the general Music folder.

buckifn -> RE: pray for Ray Boltz... (9/14/2008 12:48:22 AM)

very sad....I guess what stood out to me a lot in the article was his usage of a lot of "I's" and "my feelings" and no instances of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

To make millions singing about the Savior and then be so misled about sin is one of the most tragic things imaginable imo.

humbleinspirit -> RE: pray for Ray Boltz... (9/14/2008 12:49:40 AM)

God still used him though, I know because I was at one of his alter calls for healing back in the day.

musicboss11 -> RE: pray for Ray Boltz... (9/14/2008 1:32:34 AM)

It is very sad, and he needs a lot of prayer.

Amen. Sad. Tragic. Let's all pray for him...and continue to Exalt HIM.

Louisvilleslugger -> RE: pray for Ray Boltz... (9/14/2008 11:24:07 AM)

I'm not sure he wants or needs prayer. By the article it seems like he has found the happiness he has longed for and is finally able to live his life as he wants to. His family may need prayer as the continue to cope with this and as their family lives have changed through this.

You don't think someone living in unrepentant sin needs prayer? Wow.

I was crushed by this. I have been a fan of Ray Boltz for 20 years, and used a number of his songs in my own concert ministry. It's heartbreaking to see someone stumble, but it's a tragedy to watch someone consciously turn away from God's commands....

markb77 -> RE: pray for Ray Boltz... (9/14/2008 3:59:19 PM)

While his songwriting style is pretty much my definition of exactly what is wrong with Christian music, it still saddens me to read this. I feel for his family and for those who do like his music who will feel taken advantage of and somehow lied to.

lightshineon -> RE: pray for Ray Boltz... (9/14/2008 6:47:23 PM)

Well, some of his music was ok. "Behold the Lamb". acted out every Easter, by the assistant song leader the " Daddy" "Daddy" part was kind of a stumbling block for me and his music. Ok I love the assistant music pastor ( Lord forgive me). how many people are hiding in that closet????

humbleinspirit -> RE: pray for Ray Boltz... (9/14/2008 6:47:53 PM)

I always liked his song Thank You myself.

lightshineon -> RE: pray for Ray Boltz... (9/14/2008 6:51:18 PM)

I am sorry Mike, you had to see the easter ( every easter) acting of this song. Kind you had to be there kind of thing.

It is a good song Light!

lightshineon -> RE: pray for Ray Boltz... (9/14/2008 6:55:50 PM)

It is a good song, in context, unless you have seen it acted out for the upteenth time. Not meaning to offend Mike. I am sorry.

I am glad, you know I think you're the best. I am in a goofy mood, I think I had the nervous break-down that has been looming on the horozon.I keep being obnixous and laughing.

Maybe its not a nervous breakdown, but just the joy instead?

lightshineon -> RE: pray for Ray Boltz... (9/14/2008 7:05:49 PM)

I do not know, my husband and family are not taking it well. my husband just said "I think I am funny, but need help."

Maybe it is nervous laughter? And to keep this thread from getting further off-topic, can you reply to this in my "Say Hi" thread link below instead?

Louisvilleslugger -> RE: pray for Ray Boltz... (9/14/2008 7:55:25 PM)

Post #12 I should not have said NEEDS prayer as we all need prayer. I was just trying to say he obviously has found a peace in now being able to be who he really is and is happy with that.

Yeah, try saying that one in Morality/Ethics. Apparently we choose to have urges in some people's minds. It's actually interesting stuff to research...but maybe that's because that's what I'm researching right now!

Anyway, I really liked only a few of his songs, but I wasn't around back in the day. :)
