beachcooky -> Women wearing lipgloss? (9/12/2008 11:03:46 PM)

I have worn lip gloss many times.
In 9th grade, girl told me one time that guys don't like it.
But then I asked my dad and he said they do.

So--how many of you guys out there like girls that wear lipgloss/lipstick?
And how many of you don't?

APZR -> RE: Women wearing lipgloss? (9/13/2008 12:08:50 AM)

Ummm, are you talking english? [:D] Of course you are, but you are talking girley. [;)] In man language, I'm not sure I'd notice the difference between lip gloss and lip stick. As long as used sparingly and good color choices (looking hot [;)] ) [:D] any makeup is a plus in my book.
I'd say that other girl was just lobbing a covert insult. Either she was jealous or mad... because you were getting the boys attention, or she wanted to be the only one wearing it.

Haha, I highly doubt that she was jealous of me.

Must be a close friend? Because I know how girls glue on nail extensions when they plan to jump someone in the halls. [:D]

Just know that anytime anyone sez a blanket statement like "guys don't like, guys do like, guys won't, guys will", that they are either ill informed, ill advised, or have some personal prejudices from a single past experience.

beachcooky -> RE: Women wearing lipgloss? (9/13/2008 12:39:06 AM)

Yeah--I think she was ill informed! Haha.

APZR -> RE: Women wearing lipgloss? (9/13/2008 12:45:02 AM)

[:D] Have a good night. Gotta get a few zzz's before getting back to my job site in the AM.

Yeah I like very glossy lip gloss on full-lipped women. That way I can stare deeply into their lips and admire my own reflection ; )

Seriously though, I generally prefer subtle makeup, closer to natural the better, except maybe on special occasions where a lot of makeup is the norm.

huskarine -> RE: Women wearing lipgloss? (9/18/2008 11:17:29 AM)

agreed with one of the other posts...as a guy, i would not honestly notice it, just the color of the lips.

OneJohn410 -> RE: Women wearing lipgloss? (9/19/2008 5:35:38 PM)

I like girls!
I've worn lip moisturizers/protectors.
Dad's are good sources of advice, so long as he doesn't drown me in it.
I've heard you should never share a tube with anyone.
I wouldn't wear scented lip gloss myself, mind you.
Scented Chap-Stick is more appealing that the original.

Excuse me, but I find you incredibly attractive. May I buy your meal for you? Oh, but wait a minute... I just have to know... are you wearing anything on those wonderous lips???[:D]

No, that's not my pickup line at all. And to be honest, if they don't have food or a sauce or anything on them, they really don't get much attention in the bigger picture of things, Like. (And if they did, I'd very nonchalantly itch my own matching lip to let you know if you were unaware.[:)]

Still, a great question. Thanks! (putting my lip balm in my pocket)

To be honest, I cannot tell the difference whether a woman is wearing lipstick or lip gloss or both.

HAHA, nice pick up line! Haven't heard of that one!

I'm not sure what my wife wore at our wedding, whether it was one or the other, or both...

makarizo -> RE: Women wearing lipgloss? (9/30/2008 7:17:45 AM)

between lip gloss, and chapped lips, I choose lip gloss.

I can understand that, yes.

I'm not a big fan of makeup to begin with. Lip gloss is OK I guess...if all you're doing is looking at it. When it comes down to actual kissing though, lip gloss is messy and disgusting. [8|]

My dad would agree with you on the kissing part. He says he strongly dislikes kissing my mom when she's wearing anything on her lips. It's greasy, etc.

ffbruce -> RE: Women wearing lipgloss? (10/16/2008 3:11:25 PM)

Personally, I really don't care whether my wife wears makeup or not, lip gloss or not. I want her to be happy with the way she looks. I'm happy with the way she looks regardless.

faroukfarouk -> RE: Women wearing lipgloss? (10/18/2008 3:28:00 PM)

Both my wife and our daughter use makeup, and do an excellent job of applying it.

But believe me, it's best for me to stay out of the bathroom when they're doing their thing in the morning. It's the basement biffy for this guy.

I never really had a "preference" for girls with or without lip gloss, but I like it.

Although my wife's make up lady seemed to manage to apply on her a spectrum of the rainbow that I had hitherto been unaware of, yet I guess it's a case of what you are used to; on my beloved I could get used to it.

(I do reckon, though, that keeping lips looking like Times Square neon lights reflected in crystal, must take some considerable effort.)

But anyway, it's the 'inward man', as Paul says to the Ephesians, that my dear wife concentrates on, by God's grace. That's the most important, right?

Ahh Ooo Gaa, Ahh Ooo Gaa! [:D]

My wife is just as beautiful as she was when we married 25 years ago. She's also one of the most intelligent and integrity-filled persons I've ever met.

She's also very much an artist. She can wear whatever clothes she wants to wear, and whatever make-up she chooses. It's all good!

faroukfarouk -> RE: Women wearing lipgloss? (10/19/2008 3:12:55 PM)

ffb:

I'm sure it doesn't apply with your wife (and not with mine either) but some ladies' attempts at self beautifying (make up, body art, etc.) do go over the top...right?

Absolutely!

One of the saddest things I see is when a woman in my age bracket (nearer 50 than 40) is still trying to look like she's 18. I just don't quite understand that.

faroukfarouk -> RE: Women wearing lipgloss? (10/19/2008 4:12:25 PM)

ffb:

Exactly. Paul talks about cultivating the 'inner man', in Ephesians.

The cosmetics and body art can be over-done (and often is). I guess sometimes there can be a motive such as a faith related tattoo, though, although often they are over-done.

Better a Plain Jane than a Neon Nana...right?
