http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/09/biden-hillary-a.html Biden: Hillary a Better Pick Than Me Email Share September 10, 2008 5:17 PM ABC News' Matthew Jaffe reports: Sen. Barack Obama's, D-Ill., vice presidential nominee, Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., Wednesday said that Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., might have been a better pick for the position than him. At a rally in Nashua, N.H., a man in the audience told Biden how glad he was that Obama picked him over Hillary, "not because she's a woman, but because, look at the things she did in the past." "Make no mistake about this," Biden responded. "Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Let’s get that straight. She’s a truly close personal friend, she is qualified to be president of the United States of America, she’s easily qualified to be vice president of the United States of America, and quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me. But she’s first rate, I mean that sincerely, she’s first rate, so let’s get that straight."

First, the Republicans are whining about lipstick, now compliments. What next? "Biden's combover indicates that he supports McCain!"

At least he has a short list. Palin probably can't count the number of people more qualified than she is.

Who's whining - Biden is hilariously clueless as usual. I begged for Biden, and Obama delivered. I couldn't be happier. Hopefully, there aren't any "family obligations" or some other emergency that comes up allowing Bide to be replaced.

"I think he can be ready, but right now I don't believe he is. The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training." _________________ I think you can put a fork in Obamas campaign. Its done.

Sounds like they're reacting to polls and a certain Lady from Alaska. Don't be shocked of he drops out and they try to get Hitlery on the ticket.

Hillary would've been a better pick than Biden. She would've been a better pick than Obama.

And the thing is Palin called it. During her convention speech she told Biden that he better make sure he gets the job offer in writing.

I think Mr. Biden is being not only a gentleman, but praising some one that in his book does deserve praises. To me it comes across plain honesty ways, comming from someone, who does reckon and appreciates another person values, in some instances better than themselves. I do think this kind of approach, in a very individualistic and competitive society may not be very commom and sure interpreted as some kind of weakness etc but I find it strenght of character and honest approach. My oppinion of course, dont know much about their friendship and working together as politics etc.

I have to agree with him, but the problem is, the only reason that Hilary is not the VP candidate is because she does not want to be. An all or nothing sort of thing, plus, she wants to be able to run in 2012. If she gets on the Obama ticket and Obama wins, she has to wait until 2016 to run. Now she can support him in the open, and do everything she can to make sure he doesn't win behind the scenes. That's my take on it anyway.

My favorite Biden moment of late, at least before the Hillary "might have been a better pick than me," was when he announced Barack Obama as "Barack America." I could just imagine Barack in shiny red, white and blue stretch pantsuit and boots with a cape. http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0808/Bidens_first_Bidenism.html

Is the following plausible: Biden's remark was not a random comment but a calculated move, the beginning of a push for Biden to step down and Senator Clinton to replace him as a VP candidate? Was Biden initially chosen to "smoke out" the GOP to determine their strategy and adjust to the GOP VP choice? This makes sense to me because: (1) The DNC learned under President Clinton to float trial balloons then adjust based on public reaction (2) Senator Obama is going to team with President Clinton to campaign in Florida. This could be the first step in a "healing process" to mend the Obama-Clinton rift. Then, a second step would be for Biden, the race "rabbit", to step down. (3) Senator Clinton would then capture back some of the shift in support that moved to Gov. Palin. In my view, if the above tactic is not used, Obama will not stand a chance come November.

It is my opinion that Smiley Joe will soon experience a "family emergency" or some other code-talk for being fired. Obama almost has to turn to Sen. Clinton if he hopes to have even a close chance in November. I have been wondering lately if Obama picked Slow Joe as a distraction in order to see who McCain would choose before making his real VP selection.

Oh I think you've hit the nail squarely on the head. Biden will go IF the Hidebeast would condescend to be second fiddle to Obamessiah. One of the talking heads on Brit Hume's show this evening brought up an interesting point about having a President, an ex-President, and a President wannabee all in the White House. That would be fireworks! -Dave quote:
