too funny, probably

I was on a trip to Pa from NC. This woman was mad determined to get into the bathroom that I was in. She kept knocking and pulling on the door and getting all frustrated. And I told her I was in there....

She was too funny

Maybe it has to do with people vandalizing and stealing paper towels. It also might have to do with keeping it clean they can probably monitor it better. Good question though.

I believe that it may have something to do with sexual predators or thieves hiding in the bathrooms (and vandalism, and theft of paper goods...though this happens anyway, which is why you rarely see loose rolls of anything, and homeless living in them, and an assortment of other undesirable possibilities...)

Borrowing an idea from Douglas Adam's "The Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy" ...

It's probably related to the same reason that airports have all the plumbing exposed (on the premise that they are useful) and hide all the gates (on the premise that they apparently are not.)

When my dh was homeless, he would try to find unlocked bathrooms to "shower" in.

2Shaye,I never thought of that. Maybe they don't want homeless people using them showers are to even live in.

Anyone see the movie w Will Smith, 'finding happyness' (sic)? good movie based on true story. He and his little boy have to spend the night in a bathroom at a train station.
