quote:
I spoke to one of my pastors about this, and he suggested I wait until it is confirmed by others, especially those with the gift of prophecy. Hey, Shawn. I do not know your pastors, but waiting for a human to confirm what the Lord has purposed in your heart might take a while. Sure, I do understand what your pastor has told you, and where, scripturally, he is coming from, but oftimes God wants to take others out of the picture entirely so that He can tell you personally. It sounds to me that you have the answer already, that you already are aware of what it is. Continually 'seeking a sign' will get you nowhere fast. Shawn, base your decision on what you feel in your heart is right, not upon what another person will or will not say. This can be an easy target for the enemy to set his sights on you, to send someone, a sheep in wolf's clothing if you will, to tell you a word that will be a disappointment to you. And who knows, you may have already had the 'Word' you have been searching for, but since you are waiting on that right 'Word' you may have second-guessed it and missed it altogether...does that make sense..? Stop looking for a word to come from a man, but listen for the still, small voice of the Lord; He will whisper it to you in a way that you will never, ever forget. matthew
