Lots of us on here can relate to the migraine. I hope you feel better soon.

I'm sorry you've had them too. It's just frustrating because I get bored, but it is pretty well debilitating when I try to do anything.

What I do every night: Dress up like a bat and fly around town to fight crime.

I might also eat burgers with friends while listening to a football game on the radio and playing poker.

I don't know yet what I'm doing this evening. I might go for a walk along the Old Town Alexandria waterfront, but that will depend on the weather. (Our forecast calls for isolated thunderstorms.)

Old town is one of my favorite areas there. I also like Georgetown along the canal.

I like Old Town too ... and Georgetown. Have fun!

Now is Georgetown really that interesting? I've never actually walked around there so I do not know at all.

I am exhausted. It has been an eventful day - I am really beat! I just seasoned all of my food so that all I have to do is pop it in the oven tomorrow after church (I try to cook for the week - it is easier). So tomorrow will be a lot less stressful. My neighbors are quiet (!) so I'm going to take advantage of it, watch The Bucket List, and then head off to bed.

...same as last night, except for I have Metallica playing in the background......now imagine me howling Unforgiven while doing laundry...he he he....not a funny sight and sound.......

........What I've felt
What I've known
Never shined through in what I've shown
Never be
Never see
Won't see what might have been
What I've felt
What I've known
Never shined through in what I've shown
Never free
Never me
So I dub thee UNFORGIVEN
..................................

No offence, I'm just not into Christian rock...Casting Crown is probably the only Christian CD I own. I have a lot of Keith Green from the cassette era.

I tend to like old buildings and bookstores and the area right next to the canal has a bunch of both.

Also I like the college atmosphere. Unfortunately most of that (on almost any campus) has been ruined by rampant liberalism.

I played "mall madness" with the Girl (she beat me again!), fed the Girl. Did the dishes, did a load of laundry, got my reading done and posted a little on the Calvinism vs Arminianism thread (It's kind of futile I'll admit but sometimes I feel the need to pound my head against the wall and that one has been so softened by all the other head beaters before me).

Now browse through here and then read a little fiction before bed.

I played on forums tonight. During the past hour I have been watching TV flipping between Frasier and VH1 Classics "80 hours of the 80's."

Last Dec all the way through Jan, I kept myself awake following that thread. It literally got me so confused. Now, I breeze through it every once in a while, but I think I know what side of the debate I side. Funny though that all the preachers/apologist that I listen to and admire are Calvinists, and I'm still not convinced.

The main problem I have with the thread, (and to be truthful with most Calvinist churches) is that the people spend so much time defending their own position that they never seem to be concerned about advancing the kingdom of God. So I can really only stomach a couple weeks of it at a time before I have to take a couple week break.

Many in our denomination, which could definitely be called Calvinists, have realized that this is a problem, and are working on changing that, outreaching more, witnessing more, etc., and we do support numerous home and foreign missionaries. On the other hand there is a subgroup in our denomination that is part of a movement which I WILL NOT NAME HERE, that seems to want to turn their christianity into an elitist intellectual club, and they just want to discuss their intellectual theology all day, instead of going out and living for God . They don't even think sermons should have application to everyday life.

The perceptive, and those who have been around a while think it will eventually cause our denomination to split.

Then there is a whole other group that wants to go back to all Old Testament laws (stoning rebellious children, passover, no pork, etc.)..
Ok, most of them probably wouldn't got so far as to stone rebellious children, but you get the idea..

Yes we will probably split in 3 directions in the near future.

(((((((((((HUGS)))))))))) to everybody with migraines or who didn't feel well.
Hi, labguy and prairie hiker, I see you're both hangin' around tonight.

John_O, did the girl have fun at her sleepover? (just pretend that's a kid with her sleeping bag, and not a superman smiley..we need to ask the admin for a sleeping smiley).

Cool Lisa! And thanks, prairie hiker! And glad you got your cooking done rgod...and so we don't get busted for turning this into a chat thread..

What I am doing tonight

taking out my contact lenses
washing my face
brushing my teeth
going to bed

However,
What I already DID tonight:

fed sister her dinner, changed her diaper, put her to bed
watered plants (yes, I know I did that last night, but hey it has to be done every day) I will be glad when my parents get home from their trip, and they resume the plant responsibilities......I had a fiasco tonight with overwatering, and a resulting flood on the kitchenette floor...had to then pick up 3 heavy plants, and 11 big square glass things, that I had to pry apart with great care so as not to break them.......then about 20 cleaning towels wiping up the water.....good times
wrote the thank you notes that I never did last night
played around on forums
watched Keeping Up Appearances, a Britcom rerun they show on PBS.

I love nights when you think "my gosh its going to take forever to get the kids to sleep" and like 10 minutes later they are passed out.

Now I wonder if I'll get my phone call in about an hour, or if it'll be tomorrow morning.....I got it earlier in the day - just waiting for this one. The last time both were at Home Depot Center, I didn't get called until they were having breakfast Sunday morning......

Yep, they did great. Can you tell I love my "boys". (both are married, btw)

...now, I'm just going to bed and reading Mere Christianity so I have some intelligent things to say to those Calvinists in the forum....if I get the nerve to ever join in. Great Book.

Don't ya love it? I just love the 2 that I'm an aunt to, and I wouldn't have been able to love them this much if I'd had my own kids.
