Wow - Lieberman really laid it on the line - he even spoke strongly of Palin.
In what I think is becoming typical of this election, the Republican convention isn't nearly as glitzy as the Democratic one - but it doesn't need to be.

Classic.
I thought that was hilarious as well.
I thought Thompson started out a little slow or weak but as he went along he got better.
I was very impressed with the tribute video at the beginning. I'm sure the left will criticize McCain politicizing the death of a Navy Seal but I didn't see it that way. But then again, I'm a McCain supporter so I must be drinking the proverbial Kool-Aid.

I loved Bushs speech and i loved Liebermans as well. They all did fantastic! I cant wait until Thursday when McCain accepts the nomination!

When is this over?
They were rioting this morning.
Well I know this, the media said about 8000 early yesterday, by this am it was probaly 15,000 And counting.
My nephew works in ST.Paul and it took him 2 hrs to get to my house.
He wants to join the protests, but I said no leave them windbags to theirselves.
He was like Aunty they could'nt possibly represent me, they were all old balding white men.
I said yep

Here's my prediction for Palin's speech tonight: it will be simple, focus on core American issues (God, mom, apple pie, and John McCain), and will be hailed by her supporters as a smashing success, resulting in Palin being carried from the convention hall on her supporters' shoulders.
I'll say one thing, though: at this rate, Caribou Barbie may be the first VP candidate to upstage her boss at a nominating convention.

Women....hispanics (some who spoke from the stage last night).....blacks.....the two girls from Bangladesh that the McCains and a friend of their's adopted 18 or so years ago...etc..etc.....

1. you claimed that because the republican party is "white" (a bloody lie), that they can not represent you (refer to post 55).
-for you to claim this, is basing it on simple color of skin...which is bloody racism.
2. You owe all of us something because you ignore a lot of posts that pose an argument with yours. Remember the burden of proof is on the accuser. refer to complaint number one.
3. The mockery is made when you don't answer questions and/or throw smoke screens. you basically condemn the points you make by not directly standing up for them.
4. I am not about calling you a racist. I am trying to help you realize what you are saying. Please look outside the box, and the reasons for your motives. and yes, you are a sinner like me and everybody on this forum, but i intend not to judge but restore.
MLK's dream was for people not to care about race, for it to be a complete non-factor. we can even take joy in the many different colors of skin (a la "Colored People" by DC Talk)...skin color should never be a factor, and if you are currently considering it in your actions, then logically, they are out of racist intentions.
like i said, no one is here to stone you. just trying to help you realize what you are saying.

If representatives, presidential nominees or not, from either party came or didn't come out for Gustav the media would politicize it. Either they would be demons for "using this tragedy" or they would be demons for ignoring it. IMO showing up at least shows an effort to be there, you cannot say for certain whether or not either of them would be there if they weren't running for president. IMO its better to look at what they did several years BEFORE the 2006 election.
RE: Protesters
There are some people in this world who are paid to protest. Most protesters are liberals as evidenced by the fact that most protests are for liberal causes. Its really quite funny to watch man on the street polls at protests half of the protesters don't know what's being protested or they heard there was a protest for something and felt the need to go protest their own cause (which may or may not have anything to do with the price of tea in china). Its really funny when you ask them to tell you who's who in the current presidential cabinet... most of the time they look at you like you just spoke a foreign language.
Its also even more amusing to me to read a socialist or communist "handbook" and see how they map out how to use the freedoms in democracy to actually subvert freedom in the long run and accomplish their goal to gain power. perhaps amusing isn't the appropriate word, scary even. like lambs to the slaughter.

Please. I make less than 30k a year, I have two children, which i get no child support for, but thanks for sticking to stereotypes. makes it so much easier to tell who's who. I should clarify however, I am not a republican. I am an independant conservative. I just happen to be supporting the republicans this time around. Give me a conservative dem and i'll vote for him or her.
