THANKS! I've asked my friend who's a paramedic if that was possible. He assures me that it isn't..

BUT I have Pepsi right now. I am good in the beverage department for at least an hour.......may have to look into coffee after that...

Morning Den....

Can I go back to sleep now?

Why can't the kids all get themselves ready for school on their own and let me sleep?

I wonder the same thing. It was so nice when Linz had a ride to school last year, now I have to get up and go out in the cold.

BTW, Amy, that cute avatar of yours sure has grown and changed her looks.

I'm glad you mentioned it, I almost missed it.

My wife, a nurse (which, she assures me, outranks a paramedic), says that not only is it possible but is the most common way for first shift at the hospital to get started.

Yeah! Go Seminoles!

The exploitation of the american Indian as a mascot is appalling...and when I was about 30 years younger and too big for my britches, I was all empowered with that. Back when it might have meant something in the 70's with all the other political nonsense going on....

but now...meh...it's just some non-indian on a horse...who cares?

never liked 'em anyhoo...love them gators though!

My high school was the Indians and we'd get all sorts of people throwing fits over it. Unfortunately we were in Southern Illinois where the majority of people are rednecks and they don't give two hoots to being politically correct.

My college was funny though...it's a Saluki and NO ONE knows what a Saluki is...LOL Thing 2's principal saw me wearing my jacket and was like, "What's a Salukis?" *giggle* So I had to tell her.

I think it's even funnier that it was a principal who asked.

it's a dog breed, right? the ones that kinda look like a long-haired greyhound? just making sure before I poke fun at someone else...

You are so fortunate not to have been in California where they are always "politically correct"

Kids have it too soft nowadays! When I was growin' up, I had to get up before 3AM and get dressed to cut a load of wood to heat the house and get the wood stove going so I could cook breakfast for my 20 brothers & sisters and then, after doing the rest of my chores, walk uphill 12 miles through 5 feet of snow to school. After school, I'd have to walk uphill 12 miles through 5 feet of snow back home where I had to work another 12 hours before beginning my homework. And that wasn't just in winter - it was 12 months a year!

LUXURY!!!

A house. We had to do all that, live in a barn, do the farm chores, and pay the farmer for the privilege.

The biggest Southern Illinois Saluki fan I know is Billboy, our favorite farmer, who posts in SG. I like their basketball teams.

The biggest Saluki (the dog) fan I know is one who operates a Saluki rescue organization near where I live.

If you ever watch their games on ESPN my cousin's daughter is a ball girl for the team. She's featured on camera quite frequently.

Either my mind fails me or the thread has fallen into the great abyss of the Twilight Zone.
