I don't know if it is a pet peeve but someone told me the other day that I needed to cut my hair. My hair is down to my waist and in very good condition. I trim the ends and that is it. I could see if my hair was unhealthy but it is not!! They just thought it was their place to say how long my hair should be!! I couldn't believe my ears!!

What exactly do you mean by that? Do you mean too academic, or not academic enough? I could be interpreted both ways, lol, and I was just curious.

People who are too quick too dismiss an insight I may have just because I am single and have no kids.

This hits very close to another pet peeve of mine: People who assume because you aren't in their situation that your thoughts or advice are unwise. Being too subjective when making a decision isn't wise and listening to someone objective quite often is helpful. Having advice from someone outside the situation is exactly what's needed many times.

I also abhor the popular email writing style that has no punctuation and no capital letters, unless it is a single sentence. If it's more than one sentence, I feel like I am decoding it.

You use enough punctuation to where it's not a problem. It's when you combine no caps and no punctuation that I can't figure it out... well, I can, but it's like solving a puzzle rather than reading. So your posts don't really cross the line into my pet peeve!!

When people talk on their cell phones in public places, like the in line at the grocery store or while seated for dinner at a restaraunt, or loudly enough that I feel like I am actually a part of their converstaion.

Text messaging while you are supposed to be doing something else (like having a converstaion with someone else in person, during a church service, or driving!)

Getting emails that are in "text" language

When people feel like they need to make comments about not having any kids (when they don't know the struggles we've been through to try to have them).

When people don't know common courtesy, like simply saying please and thank you or sorry.

Chewing with your mouth open and loud smacking noises - yuck!!!!!!

When my husband leaves his lunch cooler on the kitchen floor instead of tucked under the shelf where it belongs!

I once had a whole conversation with a women in the bathroom stall next to me, only to find out she was talking to some else on her cell phone, while on the pot!!!

Our local post office has a sign that says "We will not wait on you while you talk on your cell phone. We need your full attention to complete your order."

My pet peeve was already names: I too love my dog, but clean up after your's!

People leaving stuff on the sidewalk thus forcing me to run in the street. There are several cars that overlap the driveway onto the sidewalk and lots of basketball hoops on teh sidewalk and I then have to go into the street to go around them. GRRR!!!! In Colorado, that's a ticketable offense.

Same here. Sidewalks are city property. That bugs me too, especially if I'm pushing the stroller.

Exactly.

And kids walking to school??? Not cool.

There are times I will go on the person's property instead of the street. I've stepped on the basketball hoop a couple times.
One day I tripped over something someone left on the street. If I fell and hurt myself, I bet I would've had a good case to sue. Not that I would've, but I bet I could've.

You're against kids walking to school, or kids taking up the sidewalk? I didn't get it.

That reminds me of annother pet peeve:
On my street, mothers drive to the end of the street where the bus stops to pick up their children. There is not an actual bus stop (or parking lot) and there is not room on the street for cars to be parked everywhere. It's intentionally not wide enough to prevent homeowners from parking there often and overnight. The subdivision is a safe one. I can understand when it's raining, when the family lives deep in the subdivision, or when thefamily needs to leave out of the subdivision from the bus stop. What drives me nuts is the people who stop up the street every day and then drive their child three houses down on a beautiful day. I don't get it! If you can't trust your child to walk three or seven house down the street, you don't have any business sending your child to public school where he would be responsible for himself throughout the day!! Ask me how I really feel.

She means that even the school kids suffer when people leave things out on the sidewalk, at least, that was my interpretation, she can correct me if I'm wrong.

Another pet peeve that I forgot to say is that I despise snobbiness, especially when it comes from a christian who should know that every good and perfect gift is from above, and not of their own merit.

When you buy something that you really really wanted. (In my case a kitchen gadget) then you go to use it and hubby put it away and doesn't remember where.

Kids not able to walk on the sidewalk when walking to school because things are on the sidewalk.

I can't stand it when people water their sidewalks while watering the lawn. Especially when you are walking with a baby in a stroller, or a carrier.

I would consider that to be a pet peeve. I have known people who don't like long hair and think everyone who has long hair should cut it or that long hair is ugly. Uhhhh ok.

LOL...that's funny. And my husband wouldn't even know the proper name for it, so I would have to describe it or draw a picture so he would know what I'm talking about.

Then there's the "I don't know where anything goes" excuse for not emptying the dishwasher!

Well, that makes perfect sense!! My brain isn't working right today, obviously!
