I talked with my cousin Donna again by phone tonight and she is in such pain and said some things that sounded desperate; I am very much concerned. Please pray that she gets medical help for the pain and that God touches her and heals her and takes away her intense pain--also that He gives her hope and that she knows that her life is not her own but God's. The operation last month for her back did not help her; she has state insurance as she is disabled. She has no main doctor though someone finally called this week about getting her in. (Thank you Lord.)



She has been struggling pretty much alone for so long although God did send her a friend who lives in her area who stops by every day. (She is on the West Coast; I'm on the East and there is no family where she is). Please help me to 'pray through' every day for Donna to get some help to God's honor and glory.


Lord please keep Donna safe within your stong arms and bring her pain relief just now and real hope. Help her to see things more clearly and guide her to a good doctor who will know what to do and take the time to be of some real help. Help him/her to have patience with her many medical problems. Bring Donna Christian friends and bring some good out of all she has had to go through. Thank you for all you will do and what you have done. Please bless each person who prays for her. Merciful God, please watch over Donna. Look down upon her and bless her with your healing touch so that she might finally find relief from the pain that is afflicting her. Bless her and comfort her through the pain, and let her know that you are beside her as she suffers. Show her compassion, and please gift her with friends near by who can help her, not only physically, but emotionally as pillars of support and cheer.

God, I know that none of us are worthy of being in your presence. Especially me. We know, however, that you love all of us, uncondtionally. You see past the sins that soil us as you sent your Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross so that his blood might wash us clean of sin. Therefore, I humbly ask that you to please hear these prayers and help Caseyp57's sister, Donna, with her pain and bring her the blessing of healing so she no longer has to endure this suffering.

I ask this in the name of the One True Savior of this fallen world, Jesus Christ, through whom all good things come.

Lord, please please lay your hand on Donna's back and heal her from this terrible pain. Please bring her more wonderful friends Lord that can be there for her and help her in every way that she needs it. She really needs you Lord, please keep her safe, protect her, don't let her get discouraged, keep her calm and bring her peace in knowing that you will take care of her and her situation. Lord Jesus, You told us about the woman that kept asking the corrupt judge to help her, and finally he did. And you assure us that God is not corrupt and will answer us if when we ask. So Lord we lift Donna to You again and ask for divine intervention in her life. Father, whatever is needed to bring complete healing: physically, spiritually and emotionally, we ask You to bring it about. Father, we ask You to do it quickly, for Donna's sake!

Lord I think too how someone told me I needed to ask the Lord for a "plan" in approaching a certain situation. Lord I ask now that You would lay a "plan" on Donna's heart. A plan to help her trust in You so completely and be malleable and willing for You to move in her life in whatever way is needed.

We ask this in Your Name Lord Jesus

Thank you all. Talked to her tonight and we had a nice talk; she seemed much less despondent. She says she has the same amount of pain today but that she just has to learn to deal with it. She does have a sore throat (again) today though.


Keabird . I told her what you'd said and also that I'd been thinking this (that she needs some sort of a plan) and (to my surprise) she said 'that is what I was thinking too!' So I said with three different sources it must be from God.



I hope you all don't get tired of seeing this thread bumped up but Donna really needs ongoing prayer so Lord willing I am going to bump this up with updates and prayer from time to time . Right now she has (even more of) a financial crunch too as her landlord raised the rent after saying he would not. But her friend gave her the difference for this month anyways so thank you Lord. Could you also pray for her cats who seem to be sick? Thanks again for all the prayer.

Lord, I continue to pray for Donna tonight. I pray that you heal her and remove this pain from her quickly. Please Lord, let her landlord not raise her rent, since he has gone back on his word please intervene in this situation as I am sure she does not need this hassle right now as she is trying to recooperate..Please just touch her and heal her completely. Lord, I ask that whatever may be wrong with her cats be nothing serious please just watch over them and keep Donna close to you and heal her precious pets...

Thanks KC and Kyl. Talked to Donna briefly and she has pretty much lost her voice and she sounded down and didn't want to talk-- I was discouraged too as I'd asked whether I could share what the Sunday evening service sermon was about (today and each Sunday) since she can't get out and she didn't like the idea...but then she let me pray with her and afterwards she expressed appreciation for the prayer. When we pray together God does seem to touch her heart...thank you Lord. But she is kind of hung up on what words to use I think. I mostly was praying the scriptures so it really was all God....

Lord please take away Donna's sore throat and her pain and help her lean on you in the midst of her troubles. May they draw her closer to You and soon accomplish what You have purposed them for; keep her from hard testing Lord as Jesus taught us to pray. Send Christian friends to show her the Love of Christ in her neck of the woods and bless her in every way that she needs it. May she be open to good advice and not listen to what would be unfruitful in her physical ailments. In the name of Jesus amen.

Lord, I know you are working on Donna right now Lord. Please heal her soar throat Lord. Please lift her spirits Lord and don't let her be distracted by anything, keep her eyes on you Lord. Give her peace and comfort through this trial right now, because I know you have a plan for her Lord. Please just keep her close to you and that your words will just come to her when she prays to you Lord...

Lord I lift Donna up to you.
I pray Lord that she will come to you seeking with all her heart.
I pray Lord that you will help her to pray and lean on you throughout her life.
Give her confidence Lord to come to you just as she is.
I pray Lord she will know how loved and precious she really is in your eyes.
Help her Lord to have a true understanding of your love and salvation.
Lord I pray for her spiritual,mental and physical healing.

Amen. Thank you Susan and KC and Kyl. She didn't want to talk again but tomorrow her once a week gal comes and will make a doctor apt with the new doctor Lord willing. The heat is getting to her. I sent her a package today but couldn't figure out how to pack the pillow --if anyone has any ideas on this please let me know. (It is 20 inches long and supposed to be good for your spine.) I can't find a box that long which isn't also that wide. And if you have any other ideas to help her please pass them along. Thanks.

God, please have mercy upon Donna. Grant her healing and relief from the pain in her throat, and anywhere else that she might hurt. Give her support from a doctor who can help treat her, and continue to bless her with friends and family who can lift her spirits and give her a positive outlook on things. Touch her, God, so that she might be spared from further misery from both the pain and the heat. Show her your glory, God, and let her healing be something with which she can glorify you.

Also, God, bless Caseyp57. Her showing such compassion and concern for this loved one is a wonderful example of what you call us to do. Look with favor upon her, and reward her with a healing for her aunt. I pray this in Jesus Christ's holy name.

Thank you so much TorchHeart for that prayer and those kind words! Actually she is my younger cousin though I know it sounds like she is an older woman with all that is wrong with her-- but she is actually still in her forties.

So the praise:

Donna's voice sounds better
She has an appointment set up next month finally
Her friend was able to help her with physical care she needed


But she is still discouraged --I'm not thinking she is desperate anymore (another praise) although I did sort of change the subject to try and inject some optimism in the conversation.

Please continue to pray for a breakthrough from the pain and discouragement and that she can get some sleep at night.

Lord thank you for sending her friend to care for her. I pray you protect her from depression and draw her closer. Thank you for the encouragement Donna has been to me and help her to see she is a good person although we are all sinners....show her how precious she is to You. Take away her pain Lord either through Your touch or through medical means but let it be soon and protect her with your angels. Help her to get uninterrupted sleep and find joy in life. Thank you for all you will do and that you have a reason for everything. I pray if someone reading is in pain that you also help them. May your name be glorified ..In Jesus name amen.

Well Donna says she has tingling in her arm tonight (and of course will not listen to a suggestion to go the ER) --- please pray for her and the increased pain in her back. I don't understand how she can be in any more pain (not that I doubt her) after the surgery....it was only laser same day surgery after all... Anyways thank you all for the prayers and I am going to keep bumping this up; just as Theophile2 prayed she find a doctor who would be patient I think I and those who are praying for her may need patience in prayer too...Thank you all for your diligent prayer support.



If anyone has any suggestions of a practical nature though please let me know. Thanks.

Why I am thinking that a tingling arm is not a good thing after surgery, I don't know. There were earlier thoughts Donna should get to an ER, and I'm thinking a tingling arm could be a warning for a stroke or heart attack. I'm sorry to bring that up, but that's just how I'm remembering things. Now if the surgeons said the surgery went well, it was just laser surgery, go home and play with your cats like nothing has happened, then were it me I'd not trust them, but go home and take it easy for awhile. There's going to be pain because things are not as they have always been, plus there's an incision to heal. She likely should have traded out one pain for a new one that should heal on the outside first. I just hope she's relaxing some so her back can figure itself out, and Donna just be doing whatever exercises she's been given.

Father God,
Thank You for loving Your creation, and for giving us Jesus. Thank You for Your Word and Your Spirit, and for prayer.
Comfort Donna following her back surgery, and strip distraction away from Caseyp57's sharing of salvation of Good News to her. Help Donna follow through on whatever advice she hears of from her doctor, that she might heal faster and healthier. Bless Donna's friends to continue to be a blessing to her.

Lord I lift Donna up to You. Heal her back Lord. I pray you would give her dr's supernatural wisdom and patience that they would know how to treat Donna. Take away her discouragement and depression and give her rest. Fill her with hope and peace Lord. Thank you for providing her with friends that love and support her. Thank you for what you are doing and are going to do in Donna's life.
