Totally right Daniel.

I have seen a VERY VERY popular quartet before who i sat on the front row for (in a church), and they werent moving their mouths yet i heard vocals.....so yes we would have been able to tell the difference between steve NOT singing and what these guys were doin. They didnt do it the entire time, just on certain songs.

Dont ask me who or what...just believe in what im telling everyone and those who get it can just ummmm..."stand by me"

Doesn't it seem dishonest for a group to lip-sync thier stuff? I mean even in the secular music world lip-syncing is taboo, just ask Ashley Simpson, or Milli Vanilli.
These guys are representing our Saviour and they are faking it? I know I said I dont like it when a group member has to be subbed for, or when a group leaves out a part and goes as a trio, but I would much rather see a group, how ever many there wereof them on a particular night, giving it thier all, rather than faking it.

Actually, it is not just Signature Sound. We are supposed to keep discussions on this board positive and constructive about all SG groups.

So in other words, don't be truthful? I mean everything is not positive, but
I think what has been said is positive and constructive. Say Joe X from Group X, gets on here and reads that people really dont like using taped vocals when a guy isnt there. They might reconsider doing it. Voila..constructive.
If everyone is always positive towards someone, how will they ever improve?????
If you hear a preacher, preaching heresy, are you positive???No, you may be constructive, but that's not always positive. You dont need to yell and scream, but if you are firm and truthful, that's always best.
If you hear a singer, and a song is just not good, or not scripturally and dispensationally correct, do you just ignore it, or do you point it out?

I agree. What if Brian Free takes the group vacation the same time every year? The wedding may not have been possible during the vacation time.
If a member of a group planned a wedding they would have to have it Monday- Wednesday (the usual days that gospel groups are home.) Most folks like us, are able to attend a wedding on a weekend. Groups are traveling on weekends.
It would be easier for the 1 group member to miss a concert than to ask several people to attend an evening wedding during the week.

Well, I am friends with many of today's groups. I can tell you this, they are dedicated to their jobs. I have been amazed that they miss the things that they do. They miss choir recitals, ball games, and birthday parties. However, if one of them misses a concert for something as trivial as a WEDDING or a HIGH GRADUATION, we get upset about it? Then blame the group for not PLANNING it BETTER?

They sing to us, but IMO, the singers in the groups we love, DON'T OWE US ANYTHING!

Ashamed of myself for having an opinion?? No, I'm not ashamed of myself. And, it's apparent that you havent read all of the posts, or you would have seen that I said, after reading several peoples experiences and opinions, that I understood the situation better that could have caused this.
Would I be disappointed, sure I would. If I had traveled and spent alot of money and time to go see a group, I'd be more than disappointed, I'd be upset, but I'd get over it. I do understand. IF the wedding was planned before BFA decided on their vacation schedule, or If there was no way around I do understand that.
I have also considered the fact that there could have been 2 members who had something to plan around and that's why the vacation was scheduled the way it was. It may have came down to, "ok 2 of us need it to be this time, and only one this time, we can do without one alot better than 2"....

You can point it out.

Under this folder's rules, you don't always have to be positive, but you do have to be constructive.

My advice for what it is worth...call ahead. I attended a Poet Voices concert months ago and the line up was totally different. Phil Cross was the only one I knew, the other two were former three britches members. No explanation was given. [&o]

In the case of Phil Cross - Mitchel John or Mitch Knietzler or whatever his name is, one of the former Three Bridges members, was named to take Mark Lanier's place way back at the first of the year or before. It was shared on this board a couple of months back that Greg Crowe had left to take a full-time church position and that Dave McVay??? was taking his place or at least filling in - so that's not really that new.

Turnover is a fact of life in Southern Gospel. It's always been that way. If you're a fan of Poet Voices, you already know that.
