stampinlady -> How do I quote more than one person in a post? (8/5/2008 9:26:20 PM)

I've never figured this out and was wondering how to do it. I don't want to post and then post again, quoting someone else. I know it can be done because others do it. [&:]

Either:

- click "quote" on both posts, copy one of the quotes to the other posting box, and close the extra box, or

- click "quote" on one post, then just copy/paste from the main thread whatever you want to quote from another, enclosing it in the QUOTE tags. If you want, you can add in the "Original: SoandSo" on your own.

if you don't know how to write the code out, hit the "?" in a reply box...it's right beside the font size box.....it will bring up a pop up box with the codes in it and a short explanation

I open the fast reply box and the quote box on the post I want to quote from. I highlight the text in the quote box, then press control and c at the same time. It copies the text. Then I click on the fast reply box and click control v. It pastes the text into the fast reply box. I can quote any number of posts that way. I didn't know there was another way to do it. This is what Fritz told me to do, so I obeyed and it worked. [;)]

zoebob -> RE: How do I quote more than one person in a post? (8/8/2008 10:39:51 PM)

what I do is usually quote the first one I want to quote. Then copy and paste the next thing I want to quote. While it is highlighted hit the quote button above and it will quote it.

Zoe - thats how I do it too.

I type in the name that I'm quoting too for clarification.

I've been a member for as long as you have an I only learned how to do it a few months ago. I probably could've learned it earlier, but I didn't think about it until one time when I was trying to respond to several posts at once.

I just tried using Zoebob's method. All it did was open a second reply box with the quote posted twice.

The only way it works for me is to quote original person, then go to main thread, highlight text, copy and paste it into the reply box, then if necessary, add the quote codes at beginning & end.

if you highlight then hit quote it will do that....if you highlight and hit reply it will only quote box what you highlighted. To add a second quote box after that, either copy paste from the thread into your reply box, adding the quote code around it, or hit quote for that new thing you also want to quote, cut it out of that reply box that pops up, and paste it into your original reply box.
