Actually, "mom-in-chief". According to Fox News, who got the story off the front pages of Ebony, Michelle Obama says her main job in the White House will be to raise her girls. The reporters are now comparing the Obamas to the Kennedys (the John F. Kennedys)...they say they are very "Kennedy-esque". They expect Michelle Obama to be more like Jackie than Hillary. Right.... I am so blasted tired of the media painting the Obama's as the return of Camelot. Does this mean that Barry will a skirt-chaser as was JFK?

Are you saying the Michelle shouldn't be concerned about raising their girls and should instead be involved in making policy decisions? Would you expect the same from Cindy McCain? How about from Laura Bush? We should be applauding a parents desire to raise their kids not mocking them. How low will the right stoop to mock Obama? [:o]

Skeptical of what? Michelle's commitment to her kids? Why are you so convinced that she is a bad mother? I wouldn't envy her. Trying to raise children in that kind of fish bowl environment can't be easy.

People *KNOW* Cindy McCain, even though she's a beer barroness and former drug addict. Apparently, that's a new rule I wasn't aware of till now: That if you don't *KNOW* someone, or claim you don't KNOW them, that gives one the authorization to make any kind of assumptions one wants about them. But if you KNOW somebody, or claim you KNOW them, like people claim they KNOW John and Cindy McCain, they're not held to the same standards as someone you don't KNOW, like Barack and Michelle Obama. I'm not an Obama fan at all, but it's refreshing to see someone in the public spotlight with good priorities. The kids are adoreable, and I think it's fantastic that she thinks her first priority is to raise them.

Now how would anyone here feel if they or their MOTHER was being picked apart in a public forum, by self-professing Christians who in MY OPINION are not acting very Christ like at the moment? And to make matters even worse - the mom that is being picked apart isn't even here to defend herself. And why should she? So she wants to put her kids first. Normally this would be something that most Christians would praise! Of course if Mrs. McCain were to come out and say the VERY SAME THING - we'd find the vast majority of Christians lining up to pat her on the back, and of course, by virtue of being a Republican, would believe her without question or a skeptical roll of the eyes. I don't envy ANYONE that is in the position Michelle Obama is in. It's not going to be easy to raise children in that sort of glass house environment where a person's EVERY move is up for public ridicule or praise. I don't presume to know without a doubt whether or not the Obama's are Christians - and I don't think it right for anyone else to do the same. AS we all know - One can claim Christ and God will say in the last days that he never knew them. What we can do is pray for that family, and maybe show a little grace and compassion and understanding. It's not like the McCain's are absolutely blemish free either. Okay - I'm up way to late! The one thing that never ceases to amaze me in any political season is that regardless of how you slice it, people get so emotionally involved in their "person" that they are able to dream up some negative to almost anything about the opposition AND concurrently overlook the failings of their own candidate. If Michelle Obama is an opportunist, I wonder what we call the entire Bush dynasty which appears to be solely geared toward the end of putting a member (and member) of their family in the Oval Office? Yup, shame on her for using her domestic prowess to her family's political advantage-it's almost like she downloaded recipes off the Internet and posted them on her website as her original home-cooking.[:D]
