Personally, I don't think talking about Michelle is neccesary at all unless she puts herself out there as a Barak representative (which she seems to be doing less of).

Of course, I don't expect the left to follow suit in their treatment of Cindy McCain.

Pardon me, but could you provide some examples of 'the Left's' treatment of Mrs. McCain to which you object?

"Personal freedom" equals "killing whatever is in the way of my right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness".

Hmmmm...sort of neatly sums up the Muslim theology with an American twist.

Nope...parents that teach that are nothing short of evil. I don't care how many cookies they bake!

"Straw man" is hardly an effective technique for making any point you might be trying to make.

uhhh...effective or not, he did make his point...we need to keep our country's morals founded on Christian apologetics. seriously, if we are to be declarative about any morality, then we have to decide where it comes from, and build the foundation as such...

as far as the Obama's and abortion is concerned, I can't help but to agree that a true, loving parent, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT, has to abhor murdering children.

Obama would defend abortion because he believes somebody is being punished with a baby!!! you know what, WE need to be responsible for them, and I for one will gladly bear their cross, take their shame, and "punish" myself for the baby's cost, if it means the baby has a chance to live. I am getting misty-eyed just writing this. Those babies have a voice, a heartbeat, a soul, and life because their loving father in Heaven created them to be. If you are able to raise your hands to Jesus and worship Him, and see the beautiful mountains, and breathe fresh air, taste good food, and LOVE, then you know that life is a blessing!!! Nothing less!!! no one shall be denied the chance of life!

LATER - sorry, I misread your post. I thought it said "this thread" (meaning this very thread upon which we are posting) where actually the words 'this thread' served as a link to another thread.

Being new here, I missed the construction of the sentence.

Sorry about that.

Why don't you argue the point instead of making stupid declarative statements!!!

the less a man makes declarative statements, the less apt he is to look foolish in retrospect...

Their adopted daughter is from Bangladesh - therefore her adoption is irrelevant to the discussion of abortion in America.

By the way, 23 is not too young to adopt. Here in Illinois, for example, the lower age limit is 'legal age' - 18. Arkansas is 21. Wisconsin is also 21.

What is the lower age limit in your state?

'Red herring' applies only in cases where the attempt is made to draw attention from the issue at hand - and in this case, the post TO WHICH I WAS REPLYING raised the issue of adoption as a solution to the volume of abortions, AND placed the matter on a highly personal basis.

It is no 'red herring' to reply to another's specific statement - and your accusaton merely reveals that you didn't know the meaning of the term.

In other words, your urging of adoption is not the 'we' you try to claim it to be, but rather your urging of others to take this course since you are 'not ready'.

pardon me, but if adoption is your answer to abortion, and you are 'not ready' to take part in it yourself - are you not CHOOSING thereby to continue the holocaust of abortion for reasons of your OWN convenience?

adoption is a solution!!! abstinence is a solution!!! planned parenthood is a solution!!! personal or not, serving your country and serving your neighbor and the UNBORN is righteous!

also, the very fact that you argued the way you did, shows that you didn't argue my point directly, instead, you tried going around, trying to make me cave in on a personal issue to support your point. it is the principle of the matter that counts!!! pro-lifers please rally with me.

and if you took me as being 23,(meaning that) legally old enough, well, there is a marital maturity issue with us that we are working on, refer to how I said that me and my wife are not ready for this (give us a couple of years as a married couple).

My goodness, I am as conservative as one can get. MO is not my favorite person, but, I will give this Obama family, they have only been married to one anothet, and seem to love their girls. I mean the things they are wrong on fine I agree, no respect for them in those issues, but, I find no fault with their parenting ( except chruch), but I think they seem to love, and nurture their children. I have to be fair, and honest about this one.

I believe folks who support abortion have an issue in regards to loving their children given they could have just as easily murdered them as have them... The belief system they and their children were under and I will assume still believe in doesn't lend itself to the nurturing of children(or anyone for the matter for the sake of anything good and if they are raised with the idea that homosexuality is normal and just fine in the sight of God they are not raising their kids in the way they should go...

John

Got it, anyone who believes in personal freedom - and personal responsibility - cannot, by definition, be a good parent.

Thanks for clarifying.

How does believing that it's ok to kill another because one doesn't want to deal with the consequences of ones action equate to believing in personal freedom - and personal responsibility. Their support for abortion smack down any idea they believe in personal freedom - and personal responsibility... Teaching your children it's ok to kill someone to cover your actions isn't good parenting...

John

Back to the point, before we get slapped about...

Does Mrs. Obama's claim that her main desire, should her husband be elected, is only that if being "Mom-in-Chief," ring true? Based on what we've seen of her, can one trust that assertion? Or, are we being played?
