There's nothing I've said I wouldn't eat. I grew up with a dad who would eat something that didn't eat him first. He loved it all including kidney, cow's tongue, shark, snake, calamari, escargot, Rocky Mountain Oysters, squirrel, you name it. Almost no foods were off limits.

But there are two things I said I would never eat again -- calf's liver and chicken livers. I hated them as a kid, and I still hate them.

I'll eat organs, but only if I have to.

There's a local church that wants to get rid of their big ol' Hammond and replace it with a keyboard. Will you eat it for them?

LOL!

Then I learned that you shouldn't eat liver because all the toxins in an animals body end up in the liver. I no longer eat it.
You know if you stopped eating all the foods that were bad for you because of what was in them or whatever, you wouldn't be able to eat anything.

I said I'd never eat grass, I mean, I said I'd never eat vegetables. But since this "being healthy" thing came up, I've started incorporating them into my meals.

Okra for me (I've had squid, alligator, ostrish). I hated okra - who wants to eat slimy veggies????

But we were at a buffet one time and my mom (who doesn't like okra either) said she tried FRIED okra and it was good. I decided to try one piece. It was good - not slimy at all.

So the only way I'd eat okra would be to fried it in a batter :)

Things I will not eat even if paid to eat them :)

Liver
Snails
Mountain oysters
Regular oysters - no way, no form - only seafood I will not eat.
Venison (I bottle fed a 3 week old fawn)
Any of the abnormal things inside the animal (stomach, brains, etc.)
Pig's feet
Raw fish

While we lived in Korea I tried some great food (and some not so great.)

Fried Silk Worm Larvae - Koreans eat them as a snack food, to me they smelled HORRIBLE. But we had to try them - I hated it!

Dog - I didn't mean to, I didn't want to, but it happened. Completely by accident. Dog is, however, considered a delicacy in Korea. Mostly eaten by men, never ever a pet. Pet dogs are treated with honour and dignity, but dogs are also farmed for eating. It seemed kind of gross from my cultural perspective, but then again Indians think it's gross how we raise and eat beef. To each his own.

LOL, we had a party for my nephew and I mixed OJ and Sprite in a punch. My niece said to me 'You like to try new things don't you? You're lucky, I don't like to.' If only she knew about some of the options listed here LOLOL

I may have eaten dog, but I hope I never find out for sure.

As to okra, I like it any way it's prepared -- even raw.

I actually like it!! My dad convinced me that it was good and he doesn't lie so I tried it, now I'm hooked! I prefer vegetarian shushi though!
