There are other warnings like this, and not just for 'tweaking' the message. One that comes to mind is along the lines of causing one as a child to stumble in leaning of God, that it wold be better for that person to not have lived... that they should tie a stone around their neck and go jump in the lake. It is awesome to think, though, that as long ago as Revelation was written, it was realized that the end times would be one that would likely draw attention to being altered to meet the needs of whoever would want to do so, and so such a warning would be placed in it.

I am aware of this, but could it not also apply to the infallible Word of God as a whole? I don't believe it is acceptable for anyone to add or take away from scripture. Furthermore, I don't believe God would see it as acceptable, either.

No, it's a commonly known fact that Revelation was the last inspired Book of Scripture. I assume God could have have inspired any of His human authors to write similar warnings but He chose John's last Book for a very specific reason.

Therefore, that would be an assumption.
