Have you ever wished that you were a man? Sometimes on a hot summer day, when my shirt is sticking to my back and I'm hot and sweaty, I wish that I were a man so I could take my shirt off.

HisCovenant -> RE: Have You Ever Wished You Were A Man? (8/4/2008 3:04:54 PM)

I can't recall a time, unless it was when I was growing up and wished for more freedom. It always seemed my parents were sheltering me from a good situation, but not sheltering me enough when I really needed it. I always wanted to breakout in those good situations like my younger brother was able to.

Georgia-Peach -> RE: Have You Ever Wished You Were A Man? (8/4/2008 3:08:09 PM)

NEVER!

Yeah, that's what I'm thinkin. Haha!

But any other time, heckins no. My boyfriend wouldn't appreciate me being a man anyways.

When I want to go somewhere alone that is not safe for a woman (store late at night)

Or I need my car worked on, or something heavy moved.
or when I need to pee, and there is not restroom around. Those trees look inviting...

Miss Giggles -> RE: Have You Ever Wished You Were A Man? (8/4/2008 3:17:13 PM)

Na.
I'm not a feminist but women can learn about cars, etc nowadays.

When I get the six pack abs I will take my shirt off (sports bra on, of course) [:D]

isaacsmom -> RE: Have You Ever Wished You Were A Man? (8/4/2008 3:33:59 PM)

Nope, can't say I ever have.

Kerryannism -> RE: Have You Ever Wished You Were A Man? (8/4/2008 4:10:00 PM)

No I have never wished to be a man. I enjoy being a women.

reach -> RE: Have You Ever Wished You Were A Man? (8/4/2008 6:12:14 PM)

Yes, all the time. I hate being a woman, but it is what I was given, so I live with it.

Mrs.X -> RE: Have You Ever Wished You Were A Man? (8/4/2008 6:34:43 PM)

Nope, I don't like working outside the home, and especially outside of air conditioning.

sherry1985 -> RE: Have You Ever Wished You Were A Man? (8/4/2008 6:36:46 PM)

sometimes lol just one week every mon then turn back

Shugs -> RE: Have You Ever Wished You Were A Man? (8/4/2008 7:43:33 PM)

Oh yes, I certainly wouldn't mind freedom, respect, and freedom from reproductive issues. It would be awesome to be able to mentally turn the process off. I think there are even some animals that simply get pregnant "when they want to".

thedivabrat -> RE: Have You Ever Wished You Were A Man? (8/4/2008 8:38:52 PM)

Nope

sharonjef2007 -> RE: Have You Ever Wished You Were A Man? (8/4/2008 8:39:52 PM)

Heck yeah!!!!! Like others have said, about one week or more out of the month...!!!! I have also wished in some professional situations that I had been a man. Amazing how much gender effects a person in a work environment.

Consecrated2God -> RE: Have You Ever Wished You Were A Man? (8/4/2008 8:44:44 PM)

I wouldn't mind trying it for awhile, just to see what it was like. I've always suspected that men enjoy sex more, so I wouldn't mind it from their perspective. <blush> But no, I wouldn't want to be a man. I'm happy being a woman. I don't think I'd want to take my shirt off even if I could. That would just be weird.

I'd like to be able to pick up hitchhikers. I always feel sorry for them and want to give them a ride, but I know it's not safe for a woman to give a ride to a stranger like that.

JJB1222 -> RE: Have You Ever Wished You Were A Man? (8/4/2008 8:49:05 PM)

Never wished that I was a man, because even on a hot summer day...if I'm sweating, my man is sweating even more. I think that's why they get to take their shirts off.

I do sometimes wonder what it would be like to have ultra short hair (no muss, no fuss), but I don't think I'll ever find out.

Mine, too. When he comes in from mowing the lawn, he looks like he's taken a shower he is so wet!

In ministry, several times[&:] It's hard to be taken seriously if you aren't- like brains are only given out to the guys...

Other than that, and the most stated reason here[;)], not really...

Miss Giggles -> RE: Have You Ever Wished You Were A Man? (8/4/2008 9:02:33 PM)

I work in IT (computers) and it is mostly men and there are a few people (mostly older) who are still suprised that women want to work in the field.

I also worked part time in a sporting goods store and really didn't think there would still be stereotypes still but there is big time. Even with asking basic questions such as what is this price , there is still a bias.

I love when people just ask to speak to a "man". Especially when I just gave them the answer. Surprisingly women did it a lot. Wanted to smack them.

3cappuccinosmom -> RE: Have You Ever Wished You Were A Man? (8/5/2008 6:24:27 AM)

Nope. Never. I love being a woman.

And shirts--I know of a young man who owns a landscaping business and requires his employees to keep their shirts *on*, out of respect for their clients and modesty. So being male doesn't always help in that regard. [8D]

BlessedMamaofmany -> RE: Have You Ever Wished You Were A Man? (8/5/2008 6:36:39 AM)

no no no. Ew. I love being a woman. I love my man being the man. LOL

Mrs.Wifey -> RE: Have You Ever Wished You Were A Man? (8/5/2008 8:35:05 AM)

No, I haven't ever wished to be a man. But I also don't think that enjoying being a woman and not wanting to be a man means that you have to not want to work outside the home, etc... I don't mind working outside the home, I thoroughly enjoy sex, can do more work on the car then my husband, can use power tools, go shopping in the dark, mow the lawn, AND take out the trash.

This has frustrated me at times. I had a particular professor in Bible college whom I felt really disrespected me. Maybe our personalities clashed, I don't know. He really obviously favored his male students. When I spoke, he made me feel like an idiot or tried to blow it off, or responded in sarcastic tones, because I was a girl. [&:][:@] Still gets under my skin to this day and that was years ago . . . . . .

And then funnily enough, a few of my female classmates and I attended a Calvinism/Arnminianism Seminar for our Systematic Theology class, and an old man in the seminar went on and on about how impressed and surprised he was to see these young ladies sitting there listening. [8|][&:] Turned out to be that particular professor's father. LOL!!! Sheesh. Dur. As if it were such a challenge to us. [8D]

stellaluna -> RE: Have You Ever Wished You Were A Man? (8/5/2008 12:16:12 PM)

I always ALWAYS wish I was a man when clothes shopping. Their sizes make sense, their styles don't go out of style. I hate them for that. [8D]
