I believe you have to a have obtained a certain amount of posts before you can add your own profile picture, but I'm not entirely sure what that amount would be. It's a question best left to a moderator.

Two new acquisitions got play tonight;

The Byrds: "Fifth Dimension" (studio album that "Eight Miles High" comes from)

The Mamas and The Papas: "If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears" (debut album with "Monday Monday" and "California Dreamin'")

Since I just got these I listened to the entire albums (I did skip The Byrds' bonus tracks, due to wanting to watch some convention stuff - see below - and because I want to hear the original album in the first listening without the added bonus stuff to alter the experience).

I also listened to Bill Clinton's and Joe Biden's speeches (and Obama's "cameo" at the end)

Very good stuff. I like their latest one as well.

Riot: "Thundersteel" (full Cd while discussing the virtues and vices of remastering, which this CD was not)

Is this the same Riot that had an album named "Narita" and "Fire Down Under(?)". I used to have a couple of their albums on vinyl.

BTW Van Halen "Fair Warning" is playing right now. "Lord, Lord, strike that poor boy down!"

Hadn't heard of "Narita" but "Fire Down Under" yes though I think the band went through some big changes from then to "Thundersteel", which is a 1988 release.

Just got Lita Ford's "Lita" (the one with "Kiss Me Deadly" and the duet with Ozzy "Close My Eyes Forever") so I listened to that in my car all the way through.

And Barack Obama's speech.

Yes indeed. The pennant race has been grueling. The Twins are right on our heels.

Having a lot more fun than last year, though.

I've been busy....not too much time to listen to music, and even less time to post!

Riot does have an album called Narita. We have the vinyl still.

Evergrey's latest "Torn" drops Sept. 22. The first song sounds promising.

Not sure if they sound enough like the aforementioned bands but they are from Sweden.

Dude, I can't wait till the new album comes out. Got to see them on the In Flames tour. Each band is different, and thats what I love most about the scene. You got doom metal, death metal, thrash metal, melodic death metal, black metal, symphonic metal, etc. So if its good stuff, I will buy.

right now, its Downhearted by Charon.
