It may be easier to have a Wiccan in the class than a vegan. Who cares what a wiccan munches on at lunchtime?

Before school started, two or three people told Mrs. Kerrlaw that she would be having a child in her class that was from a Wiccan family.

Turned out the child is from a vegan family.

HA! I find that extremely amusing.

Wiccan and Vegan are 2 TOTALLY different things!

Gotta watch out for those vegan Wiccans. I heard they can turn you into a kumquat

Dude I think you have kisses a hot mic one to many times.

BTW have I told you that I lived and worked in your area for a few years. Eastgate Shopping center. G.C. Murphys.

Most folks just think my Mama dropped me on my head a few times when I was little.

I remember G. C. Murphys. Eastgate was a happening place 25 to 30 years ago. Started declining a little and then Hamilton Place opened and just about finished it off as a shopping center. Only a few stores on the east side still open. Most of it has been converted to office space for big phone call centers.

Really? I don't get out much. I didn't think people were that eat up with it. My son has a shirt says something like Vegetables it's what meat eats and has a deer in the crosshairs.

Vegans endeavor not to use or consume animal products of any kind.

There was an Eastgate shopping center in Wichita in the 60's

I just wonder how militant they will be. Sometimes they are really 'in your face' about animal products. The poor kid will just parrot the parents viewpoint.

Use to go there on my lunch breaks....loved to shop there!!! I worked for a cellphone/pager company back in the mid 90s when hubby was assigned to a Navy recruiting station in Cleveland!

Apparently the only time anything has been mentioned by the child is when she asked why she couldn't have the school lunch.

She doesn't know how lucky she is.

I remember in elementary school, the best school lunches were ham & beans with cornbread, and chicken & noodles with yeast rolls. Do they still make homemade tasting things like that in school cafeterias?

Those lunches just wouldn't be the same Vegan.

A vegetarian doesn't eat meat, but might eat cheese, eggs, or other animal products.

A vegan doesn't eat anything that originated with an animal.

Daniel is right.

And in addition, most will not wear or use anything made from an animal. No leather shoes, jackets, or brief cases. No wool sweaters.

Some Vegans will use honey and silk.

I was telling hubby of this discussion and he was under the impression that Vegans are a cult of people who worship The Vega.

It's a very small, elite group.

Wasn't God the first to fashion a garment from the skin of an animal?????

Can you imagine a little vegan kid as school with real food other kids bring surrounding him for the first time?

cheetos, gobstoppers, gummibears, snickers, hotwings, pizza, chocolate?
well maybe not REAL food, lol!
