Oi, I have no idea what to have for supper tonight. We are in a financial pickle lately, and don't have much for groceries. Hubby is out cutting wood, so he'll want something rather substantial, but I just can't think of anything. Hmmmm.

How about marinated steak and vegies and bread Yolanda, that's my hubby's favourite type of meal after he's been working hard. High school reunions are scary, we have never had one for mine, things didn't end well with a bunch of girls at my high school so a few of us would dread seeing them again. They were just horrid to us. Hubby starts the day/night shift this week, he will be doing days first which is good. I am not looking forward to being alone at night without him, especially when Nathaniel still doesn't sleep well.

eta: Jess, your hair looks healthy and beautiful! And Sarah, in your hospital pics with Justice, I thought you looked so pretty with your hair pulled back like that. lol...thanks. It's so curly that it's hard to keep up with sometimes when it's long, so I end up putting it up. It used to not be as curly as it is now, but I think having kids made the curl come out in it even more!!!! (WEIRD!!!) quote:
Next week is my high school reunion, I'm excited, but starting to get nervous!!! my ten year reunion was when I was 9 months pregnant with Jackson (he was born about three weeks later). I was HUGE...and alone (hubby was deployed)...and emotional....and really it was too much for me, but I went anyway because I wanted to see everyone. I never knew hubby when his ten year came up, and his twenty year should be here in the next year or so.....not sure we will make plans to go to it though (he really didn't have any friends there anyway...plus it's all the way in CA and we are not too keen on visiting there)

It was really interesting reading how everyone plans to school their children. I always find it fascinating to learn from how others are doing it. Right now, the direction we're leaning strongest in is French Immersion. If we do decide on that, then I plan to start having a little more structure to learning at home when Akeelah turns 2. Nothing too overwhelming, but I'm hoping to have her done the kindergarten curriculum before she starts school. She would do kindergarten in English and then start grade 1 in French. If she is already ahead of what they are learning in kindergarten, then I can spend the year working on that stuff with her in French, so it's not overwhelming when she starts full time in French.

Lexie what exactly does French Immersion mean? That she will go to a school where they all speak French? Does that make me sound dumb? LOL, don't answer that! We plan on sending our kids to the Christian school where I taught that is at our church (but its an inter denominational school). Hopefully by then there will be a Christian high school, if not, I will home school them.

It is 10:15 at night and Hunter is up playing and quite nicely I might add. We put him down and he cried for 30 minutes. I tried rocking him, but he was wide awake. He went to the kitchen and wanted food so I gave him some yogurt. He has been a garbage disposal as of lately so I am guessing he is going through a growth spurt. This is very rare that he does this, but the kid is wide awake so why force it tonight...as long as this doesn't continue. We went to Kohls tonight and I got two new shirts for church, both on sale. Not an unbelievable sale, but I have learned if I try something on that I absolutely love to buy it. I am so excited to wear them! Tomorrow my plan is to clean, clean, and clean some more. I have a ton of laundry to get done as well so it will be busy. We don't have church Wednesday and no other plans this week so it should be pretty relaxing. Night ladies!

Lexie, how does the French Immersion school compare as far as testing grades go? Are they on par with the rest of the schools? Above average? We have an immersion school that is opening here, and they are going to offer spanish, french, and a third language that hasn't yet been determined. It's on my list of schools to check out, but they work on a lottery system for choosing students so we cant/don't need to decide about it anytime soon. Chelle, are we going to get to see a picture of your hair? How fun, Jess! We are just hanging out today(at my parents). I'll probably lay by the pool during naptime and I have to mail some packages. It's been really low key, but I miss Micah and am ready to go home already.

Ryanne - here the French Immersion schools are run by the school boards. The curriculum is what is put out by the school board just in French. From what I've read so far, the testing is on par. Some reports put it at lower, but of course it depends on the student. The education is the same quality, it depends on the student's ability to grasp the language. We're comfortable putting our kids in French schools because I have a grasp on the language. Though my SIL has two of her kids in French schools, she has no knowledge of the language and the kids have had no problems.

Chelle, are we going to get to see a picture of your hair? Oh definitely, I just have not taken one yet. I wanted a chance to style it myself so by the end of today I should be able to post a pic of it. I really dread going outside during this time of year, but I know my lil' guy loves it. We usually only stay out for 30 minutes at a time. I just feel bad because I know it gets old being couped up in this house all day. We are definitely not going anywhere today though I have got to get my list of things done around here. The in-laws are coming in a couple of weeks so I am trying to get everything in order this week so I can stay on top of it and not feel rushed like I normally do right before they get here. Plus, that will give me more time to do the extras like wipe down my cabinets, baseboards, trims, ceiling fans, etc. which all need to be done anyway...but, what more reason than your MIL coming to get them done.

Some how some way I think my kids got some grouchy pills cause they are fighting today. Arguing with each other and me. Rest time is coming early today. Hopefully that will improve their mood.

Sandy - there's an LDS church in our neighbourhood so we always see them out. Whenever Dh sees them coming he says "uh oh" and it's not because he doesn't want to have to listen to them, it's because he doesn't want to have to listen to me!!!

Oh, I forgot to mention last week. When I was in the States I got fitted at Victoria's Secret. My intention was to get fitted, find out what size I wear there, and then come home and wait for the semi-annual sale and buy online! However, once I had that bra on, it was not coming off! OH.MY.!!! I have never had a bra that fit, let alone one that fit so well! AND, it was $40, but that's cheaper than I would have to pay here for a bra that even fits! So....I need somebody who is "in the know" to let me know when the next big sale comes up And, please, my American friends....if you live in a state that borders Canada, please, please, please tell me that you know which province it borders with? I'm just hoping that not everyone would have the same blank stare I got from a cashier in a mall in Maine, when I told her we were from New Brunswick. She had no clue at all, I could have told her I was from Timbuctoo and got the same reaction. Please tell me this wouldn't be a universal reaction?? But then again, at a hotel in the same city in Maine the front desk manager even knew where our city is in New Brunswick, so I was quite impressed. And, we were super impressed with most people that we came across...the manager at Christmas Tree Shops was super, she was like "ok, what time is your bus leaving? I want to make sure I have enough people on cash to get you all out in time" She was awesome. I made Kraft Dinner for lunch today and added frozen mixed veggies and black beans. I wanted Kraft Dinner but also wanted some veggies, and figured I needed some protein and fiber. It wasn't really very good.
