Janine - no need to be embarrassed. What you have gone through is what so many women go through. I remember the months after I had Akeelah thinking I was pregnant, going through the range of emotions, coming very near to testing, all of it. Chelle - Akeelah is obsessed with Elmo! Every time I reach for the tv controller she says "Elmo?" Sesame Street is the only tv we allow her to watch. I tape it every day and play it over and over. But when we go to the library now I have to get Elmo books, we're buying Elmo dvd's for her...the other day I found her trying to put her Elmo dvd into the dvd player. She knows the other characters, but everything is about Elmo!

ORIGINAL: lexie Christi - I've been ready for another one since Akeelah was a year. Dh was not! Man, that was hard. But I understood his concerns and I respected his decision. He's ready now, which has me ecstatic, but I do remember how extremely difficult it has been for the last 6 months. Yay, I'm glad he's ready now! It makes me so sad that we lost out on GB's biological sister. Errr...umm...maybe I should give some background for anybody who doesn't know. We adopted GB after slews of fertility treatments and the very painful grieving process that went with not being able to get pregnant. We waited about 2 years for her once the adoption process started. She has since had 2 siblings born (one went to a biological family member). The latest baby was given up for adoption and we were called first to see if we wanted to keep the girls together. I very much wanted that baby and hubby insisted he only wants one child. I want another so bad...for me and for her. She's so social and while we stay on the go a lot and she has lots of friends to play with, she would do so well with a sibling. You can't make the guys be on board if they don't want to. --------------------------------------------------------- Jae, please don't be embarrassed. Hope you're feeling good this morning.

It's fine Jae! It's ok to be sad and dissapointed, and it would be ok if you were a little relieved, too. All those emotions are totally normal. Chelle, my boy loves Curious George, so when I'm really wiped or need to do something, I use him a little, too. In moderation, I think those kind of shows are ok. Nathan had destructo pills yesterday; it seemed like he wanted to tear the house apart! I was so happy we had a playdate at 9:30am, so he could be entertained by the other kids and totally new toys! It went well, actually.

Yeah, he would be. Ugh, it's driving me nuts, we're not going to town until tomorrow. I can't test until then. I might buy it and take the test right at the grocery store...LOL There's no way I'll be able to wait until I get home!! We're getting closer to be able to start our building renovations... going for the building permit tomorrow!

Janine, Now that you know you're not, I was just going to ask you, if you did get pregnant, and needed total bed rest from 32 weeks (or whenever) again, who would look after Jadon? If you're not sure, it might be an idea to plan in advance, just in case (that is, if you haven't already thought about it, which of course you may well have!!)

Christi - I'm sorry you weren't able to adopt your daughter's sister, my husband and I hope to be able to foster siblings one day. Does your daughter's biological family have any contact with you? Ruth - that's why I tape Sesame Street...so when I need to "get rid of" Akeelah I can put it on!

When you look up a book on your libraries website, and it says the book is "IN TRANSIT" what does that mean? It's there are the library? I saw other results for other books "ON HOLD SHELF" "DUE BACK 8-20-08"

ORIGINAL: InBetweenDreams (((((((((Jae))))))))))), well if you are ovulating and you wanted another baby couldn't you try now? We're getting closer to be able to start our building renovations... going for the building permit tomorrow! Wooohooooo!!!! Now that is exciting news!!!! Jae, that's what I was thinking too... No, Nicole, I have never been this late before. I've been early lots, but never late. And yes, it is SO exciting, I'm tired of talking about it already! We finally have all the plans, quotes and engineering stamps, now we just need to line up all the contractors (building movers, excavators, basement guys to start with. Oh, and the power company, because we have to unhook the power for about a month while the house is moved) Yeesh, that's a lot to think about!

Yolanda, maybe you are pregnant but it just isn't showing up yet for some reason? So, once your house stuff starts how long do you think it will take until it is all finished and you get to move in? I am just so excited for you guys!!!

Yolanda, that's great!! How exciting. We have plans to build on to our house one of these days, but we have no idea when we'll have the funds. So I'm excited to follow along with your progress! I feel lazy today. A front came through (thank goodness!!) and we've had light thunder and rain all morning, and much cooler temperatures. Ahhhhh. I need to clean house today, but I can't get motivated. Maybe later this afternoon. Tomorrow morning the kids and I are going to my parents' house to go to my little brother's going away party (he's leaving for college in Chicago). Then Saturday evening we have a swimming party to take the kids to. Should be fun!

Rachel, must be so nice to finally have cooler weather today. I too think that anything over 100F is deadly. Yuck! OH cool! Your brother must be pretty darn excited! Sounds like you guys are going to have a good weekend! By the way, this thread is like a chat thread right? Or is it supposed to just be stuff needing support???

Jae - Don't be embarrassed that is totally something I would have done too. Yolanda - I am sure the waiting is dreadful to be able to test again. Congrats on the renovations getting started soon Well my grouchy pants is napping, but boy has he worn me out with all the moodiness. Hopefully he gets a good nap in and wakes up happy.
