Janine...I totally know what you are going through. Our first two children are 13 months apart, and then there are 20 months between #2 and #3. I wasn't in denial until the third one because we were so sure that we were going to wait to have more children, and that we had been good about being "protected." LOL I remember taking the test, crying and waking everyone up. I made myself believe it was a false positive, and then a few months later, felt the baby move. I went into denial about that too, saying it was just something else I felt, even though it kept happening on and off every few days. Then, I took another pregnancy test and told hubby that I better go see an OBGYN. Sure enough, I was pregnant. They asked me why it took me so long to come in. LOL Anyway, things will be okay. I honestly thought I couldn't handle it, and somedays I still feel that way, but continue to rely on God and He will supply your strength. There is a lady I know. She lives alone, except for her pets. As far as I know, she's never been married. She's in her early thirties. Anyway, I really want to do something for her because I feel sad that she's there all alone. She's even commented to me before that she gets lonely. I talk to her every chance I get, but I want to give her something...my thought was to bake her something. I make a killer pie, but she doesn't like pie. She said that she really likes dark chocolate and caramel. I thought about brownies. Anyone know a recipe for brownies, or anything else "desserty," that uses dark chocolate and caramel???

Nicole, As one who has a child who has milk protein intolerance, it is the casein (milk protein) instead of the lactose (milk sugar) that causes reactions in most children. Usually, lactose is not a problem (since breastmilk has lactose). Sometimes, goat milk is tolerated (I think it is about 50% of the time), but it also contains casein.

Does out breastmilk have the same lactose as a cows though or different? Ok, so maybe I won't try the goats milk. LOL Ok, I think my plan is going to be, slowly over the weekend go back on dairy, journal what happens. Monday, go off soy products see what happens. Wed is the paed appointment. Nicole that is interesting, maybe it was the protein that bothered you, but maybe they know more now then they did back when we were babies? I have a friend coming over for tea, so better get my skates on and tidy up, making a raspberry shortbread pie thing for dessert. Hubby has the next 5 days off so hopefully hopefully he will be in a good mood to help me a bit. Thanks to my lovely friends who have lent their ears, eyes whatever to me today. Love you very much!

Christine: GO GOD!!!!!!!!!!! That's WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Zman/Everyone: Thanks for the congrats and encouragement. I promise I'll do my best to not be high maintenance this time round. (If I am in fact pregnant.) I'm just flat CONFUSED. The first test was an obvious yes (second line was obvious, but not as dark as the base line). The second test had the FAINT faint faint line and the third test (which was electronic) said, "not pregnant." My first test was around 1pm, 3:30pm, and 6:30pm. Is that because of the low hcg levels? Could that mean I'm not pregnant? Or, if I am that I'm just not far along? (I had no period at all so I have no idea when I conceived.) I went and bought more tests (the line ones, not the electronic ones) and will test again tomorrow morning. Jason is EXCITED and said he'll be disappointed if I'm not. I admit I'm not excited, but I'm also not depressed - just in shock, I guess. I just don't understand the negatives after the first very obvious positive. I'm so confused.

JAE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats to you! You can do this!! Wow, 2 little blessings. I promise you, Jadon is so little now, but he will change and grow SO much before this baby comes. He'll be eating solid food, walking, playing on his own, probably sleeping all night, etc. You'll do great! And what a blessing that you'll be covered financially! eta: (I cross posted with you, LOL) Hmmm . . . . . could be that your urine is too diluted right now. I'd test again in the morning, definitely (like you'll be able to sleep tonight, LOL!)

ORIGINAL: zmanfan38 Man, all of this baby talk is coinciding with me wanting another and hubby is not on board with that. It just isn't cool (about him not wanting another). BTW, Is there a support thread for that? I've looked around for one in the last few days and couldn't find one.

Christi- there isn't a thread for that. You could start one I guess, I am sure there would be some others who would join. Most of us just chat away about that sort of stuff in here or the babychat thread. Jae- will be interesting what happens in the morning. I remember when I was waiting to see if I was pregnant with Grace I needed to pee at 5am, so I did the test then and it was positive. Well it was a faint line (i was only 1 day late with my period) so I took it to work and got my friend to look at it! LOL

Christi - I've been ready for another one since Akeelah was a year. Dh was not! Man, that was hard. But I understood his concerns and I respected his decision. He's ready now, which has me ecstatic, but I do remember how extremely difficult it has been for the last 6 months. Nicole - doctors thought I was allergic to the milk protein when I was growing up, turns out I am lactose intolerant! Weird. Dh is lactose intolerant so we're wondering how Akeelah is going to be. Poor thing, she loves dairy so much, I hope she doesn't develop it. I've realized that Thursday is my only day of the week to really do things around the house. Mondays and Tuesdays I have the other baby, Wednesdays I go to my mom's and do laundry, and Friday's Dh works half days. Oh well. Today, lots of cleaning, meeting a friend for tea, and hopefully getting to the store before it rains. Have a blessed day ladies!

Chelle- How are your worries today? I hope that you are feeling better. They are better than they were yesterday. Thanks for asking! I really need to get my rear in gear and get this house cleaned. I wish one day I could have the whole house sparkling by the time hubby arrived home. My lil' guy does not make that easy to accomplish sometimes. How bad of a mom would I be if I sat him on my bed and turned on Sesame Street while I cleaned my bedroom. He loves to play around on our bed and he is starting to watch Sesame Street, Elmo especially a lot more. Ok, so I need to get off the computer and go clean...be back later!

I am so embarrassed. I am not pregnant. I used to order my pregnancy tests and ovulation tests from a company and the way they label their tests are confusing. I had never opened the package so when it said, "urine strip test" I assumed it was a pregnancy test because that's all that was in there. However, after jason did some research (and looked at the bag) we discovered that what I took was an OVULATION test. The bag said "20 lh, 10 hcg". Hcg is the pregnancy hormone. LH is for ovulation. The strips I took yesterday have the word "LH" all over them. I guess they forgot my HCG tests. I never knew because I found out I was pregnant when I got the latest shipment of tests. That's why it was so dark and then just kept fading and fading until there was nothing there to see. So, on the bright side, I guess I Was right that something was going on with my body... it just wasn't pregnancy. And, at least now I know for sure that I Am ovulating, right? Does this mean I'll get my period? Sorry for the misinformation. I am sad and Jason is really really disappointed.
