Maybe she mistakenly believes that Messianic Jews believe the observing traditions is what saves, rather than faith in the sacrifice of the Messiah and His resurrection. Could you send her a link about what Messianic Judaism is all about? my brother gets that all the time....he has a whole section on his web site devoted to the Messianic part of what they believe, and he STILL gets people that question their belief in Jesus.

Only reconnected through FB about 6 or 7 months ago. Now I find myself worrying that he will ask for some of my stuff to read! Oooo the RED PEN! I graciously accepted his complement- it was hard though. When someone gives you a compliment on your writing out of the blue and especially when this happens often, you know it is sincere. You were not asking or fishing when you have been complimented. The reason you have been complimented is because you are a good writer. No one is trying to flatter you. Why would they?

Sounds cute, Jen! I am curious though as to why you are sewing on a little kid's machine-did yours break? LOL, no, Suellen and Schuyler were here for the weekend and we found one at Goodwill....interestingly, JoAnn's sells them but not at Suellen's store, so we can't just pull the directions and have a look-see. We got some help from the fiber arts group, but still are having casting on/binding off problems. Schuy is happy, though. She made arm warmers...like leg warmers, lol. We had a great time and Suellen, who is a whirlwind, helped me over some organizational hurdles. My kitchen is sparkling and my sewing stuff is 1/3 of the way there!

Cindy, I am so sad, but I really understand. It will be weird not to have you since you have not missed a year since we started. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if you did show up anyway though.

Cindy...I'm sorry that you are going to miss FOT. Lisa...I hope that all goes well, that you get everything done, and that the time with friends is wonderful!! How's Rebekah feeling? I can't go to FOT either...it's always been too far to drive and there are too many of us working to attend.

Praying for Judy's daughter! Praying for all of you traveling to FOT & that it will be a wonderful time for each of you! Praying for Cindy's vehicles! Praying for Donna & Brian!! I just wanted to pop in & say hello before we leave! We did get our clothes packed, but have some other things to pack & take care of this morning (or after church). I'm feeling a lot better, but this morning my ears are congested. We'll be gone until the 13th or 14th! I'm praying we all have a good & safe time and that the a/c doesn't act up in the van!! "See" you all when we get back!

FOT= Feast of Tabernacles. Thank you all for your prayers for us and those who are traveling. We so appreciate them. I have to work hard to keep my focus straight. We always seem to be under so much spiritual attack before and during FOT. It is so hard to keep one's focus straight when the lens that you are looking through is skewed. I think that I am finally seeing straight and things look so much better than they did. Pray for good weather. We have been having issues with thunderstorms and the gym sprung several leaks yesterday. It is nice and cool here though and very comfortable.

Yup, it made a difficult day a lot better. He's always very kind. He happens to be Chinese and he was making this really delicious chinese salad for anyone who wanted some, and totally by accident I went into the room he was doing this in. Well, Nate and I couldn't go to church. We could go now but we'd be pretty late. Which is a bummer after we got up and dressed and everything. The neighbor parked a truck across the end of my driveway and I didn't recognize it. I checked with the people in the other half of my house but it wasn't theirs, so I called dispatch and by the time an officer got here and figured out whose it was and all, church had already started.

ORIGINAL: Ellie-Mae Cindy, I am so sad, but I really understand. It will be weird not to have you since you have not missed a year since we started. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if you did show up anyway though. Well, if my other car (the one with the terminally ill transmission) has its shaking issues figured out by tomorrow morning, I might just hop in it and run up. I would feel ok making the trip with that car since it's mostly freeway and there's not much gear shifting needed. We didn't go to church either. I was just too tired. My dh tends to be rather inconsiderate when I'm sleeping during the morning (he is always up early and feels no need to modify what he wants to do so I can sleep), so I was rather short on sleep for the past few days, and then after the Medieval Faire yesterday I was beat. I just couldn't get out of bed. We are about to have a funeral. Brandon's hamster died. I think this was the oldest hamster in history - he was at least 5 years old, which is ancient for a hamster. Brandon is ok with it. He had a long and happy life, and it came as no surprise. He hadn't been looking well for the past week or so. I imagine we will be looking for another hamster before long.

We always seem to be under so much spiritual attack before and during FOT. I'm not surprised. This happens to many people I know before and during all of the Feast Days. Friday night I slept on the wrong pillow. The result is that the muscles on the left side of my neck are strained or pulled. I can not lift my head up co it is in line with my shoulders, because that hurts as does reaching too far forward or reaching up. I can bend my left arm up to about rib height, no higher. I sure hope this gets better soon or I'm not going to be able to dance or do tambourine. And we have Carolyn Hyde in concert this Friday and I am the leader for those dances.

Did y'all know that Tapestry of Grace has changed their focus? Instead of being literature based, it is now history based. Ellie, they have a lot of online helps that you might find helpful for your family when it comes to the Feasts and Jewish history.
