I also have dysthymia. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Neither is fibromyalgia. One thing I've found out since I found out there was a possibility that I have it is the number of others who have it too, or know of people who have it. I didn't think people would understand, but they do. I don't know much, but I'll be there to support you as much as I can. If there's a support group in your area, for whatever you have, then it would be worth going along to be with people who understand and probably experience the same thing you do.

As a person with a chronic health "challenge" I can somewhat empathize with you. But I am blessed that I have very little pain and by God's grace do not have the burden of depression. It would seem there is an awful circle with depression and pain--one making the other harder to handle. I admire your strength to endure.

My health thing really does not make me sick--it is more bothersome. It's been around for 30 years so I know how to handle it

Trish & Kimmie,
My sil has Fibromyalgia, plus chronic fatigue syndrome. She amazes me with how well she has continued on, & flourishes she is on a whole regimen of medications & things she goes regularly for massage therapy, & has had acupuncture at times when thing were really bad. But she keeps on keeping on. There are days I can just look at her & I know she's having a lot of pain that day. But she just amazes me.
You mentioned how many people you discovered has fibromyalgia or knows someone who does, I was diagnosed with depression years ago My doctor suspects I've had it my whole life, but when I was diagnosed I was amazed at the number of people who came & told me they suffered too. Have they started treating you yet? I'm praying for you.

Kimmie & Trish- You sure make my minor aches and pains seem even more minor. {{{hugs}}}

Roberta- I loved your cat story. Sounds like a winner!

Saturday we head back to Kuwait. I've talked with a neighbor about driving us. We don't have to be at the airport until about 3 but we arrive in Kuwait about 11:30 p.m. Yikes! Thanks to overshooting the whole country and turning around in Dubai. If they had the sense to keep it direct it would only take a couple of hours.

Today was the kids' last day of camp so we're going to hit a couple of places this week and visit some people we didn't squeeze in before camp started. DH is checking into the different offers they have for highspeed internet (beats the dial up we have there) and he's gotten my car fixed. A week from today I'll be back at school and itching to get my room set up. I'll be happier about it once I'm back there.

Have a nice day, ladies.

Hi everybody. I hope you have a good day today.

I had a much better day today. I had some errands to do, so managed to get out and do them. I'm not seeing much of the outside of the property at the moment, so this is a start.

I was told that chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia are the same disease. Depending on which was the worst symptom, the pain or the fatigue, that was what determined which you had. They both have very similar symptoms.

I didn't know that...years ago (15ish) my doctor at that time ran some sort of blood test on me and told me I had chronic fatigue syndrome.

Sigh... I was signed up for class voice, but I saw I was the only one in there... I tried to replace it, but I can't find a single class that's at the same time (but I HAVE to put something there to be full-time). Now I'm not sure what to do; I thought about adding it back and seeing if he'll teach just me by myself... but I kind of want another person. I dunno... this had to happen for a class that I can't find a replacement for. I don't even mind going part time because I'm a 5th-yr senior and I don't have a year's worth of credits left (so I could average 11 credits/semester til I graduate)...but insurance won't cover me part time.

I dropped the music minor... but my whole point taking it is cause it's basically useless, as far as my major is concerned. Plus it's an easy A so long as you put forth effort, lol. The problem is that it's from 3pm-4pm, and although I could swear we used to offer more classes that late in the afternoon, I can't find ONE other one that starts then. My schedule's packed from 8am-3pm TR, then on MWF it's packed from 8am-5pm... so the best I could do was find a later class that's easy/useless...but ended up being the only one I could find that was offered then.

I imagine sometime before class he'll look to see who's in there; I figure if he doesn't want to teach just one student that he'll email me or something during the day before 3pm hits (he's usually there quite early). The last time I took it, others were there too but they weren't officially listed... I'm hoping that maybe he knows some students who are taking but they've not registered for it yet. Hoping, hoping, hoping. And since all my long-time friends have skipped town to transfer, I couldn't find another helpless soul to take it with me (you have to sing in front of the class, so I understand the fear).

That's what the rheumatologist told me after I asked if it were possible that I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, as I'd heard that some people do. She said that they were just at opposite ends of the spectrum.

What about a night class, Tamara? I know that's not what you would really like to do (I never liked night classes), but it might be a good filler. Plus those usually only meet once a week so often times it ends up being an easy A as well.

Virtual college classes started today, but I seem to be having some issues. Got a weird error message when I logged into blackboard & tried to get into my class. I emailed the professor so we'll see what happens.

I've gotten my schedule more lined out. Unfortunately, I don't have much down time during the day...just bits & pieces here & there. Anyway, I'd better get to bed. Another early day tomorrow beckons me already...

Sounds like everyone is busy and needs a prayer, so I am saying one for all of you ladies :)

I have been up since 4am since I had to go pick up my Fiance this morning and take him in work early today...I stopped and got a coffee and the guy gave it to me free (maybe he seen the tiredness in my eyes) and its been raining/pouring these few days which is good because we are going through a drought time atm
There was a girl that went to my high school, who was killed the other day she ran off the road and flipped her car early in morning and then she was threw from her car and then ran over! Although I didnt know her well... but thats just horrible... I was on that same hwy this morning...

Ooh how sad about being flipped from the car.

Tamara, your schedule is so packed that's my only suggestion is to find a class that starts after 6 on tue or thu so you can have a break to eat and study.

The only class I can take then is a critial language (night/evening), and I'm taking (some more) Spanish this semester. For some reason we don't offer those easier classes at night for undergrads. I remember when I took that voice class I didn't officially register until two weeks into the semester, and I'm hoping that's what some others are doing. I know he teaches private voice, so he might be willing to do "class" voice just with one person. Ugh. Sometimes I wonder how a situation and I find our ways to meet each other.

Update: he decided to go ahead and teach me by myself. Didn't seem like an issue.

Today was an okay day. I spent all morning and most of the forenoon napping with Mary. That was a delectable treat. Then I kicked myself about it during the afternoon since I didn't get any work done. Right now I am looking for some accounting software for bookkeeping and payroll. I think I will be going with QuickBooks with a Payroll addon. Anyway, then around 4ish I finally decided to mow the lawn. Well I couldn't have done it earlier because I needed someone to watch Mary for me. Mom was finally available around 4. Ryan was at the restaurant preping for the week.

Oh, and poor Rachael girl. She walked home from school today for the first time by herself and got lost. Thank God we live in a small and safe community. She was standing in the middle of the street calling out, "Mommy where are you!?!" A lady took her in, called the school and the school called me. I was without a vehicle, so the lady droped her off. I was not able to go thank her when she dropped Rae off because I was in the middle of a poopy diaper change. I'm just so thankful for God watching out for her and for the kind people in this town.

What a nice lady! Bizarre how she seems to be such an exception to the rule, isn't it?

The day after tomorrow I start packing and then the next day finish up the last of it and head to the airport. I'm finally getting to the point where I'm looking forward to it. I'm eager to see my friends again and meet my new students.

Have a nice day, ladies.

P.S. Tamara, I'm glad you were able to get that class after all.

She is 6 years old. She seems to be doing okay. I've not really asked her specifically. I'm finding she is a lot like me when I was young. The first time of doing something on my own I was terrified, but once I knew how to do it or get where I was going, I was fine. She and Zach walked to school today together then they had to take the bus to my mom's house.
