Looks like some really bad stuff (thunderstorms) is heading our way right now! I might be a mighty wet passenger by the time I get on the bus today!

Tuesday night, well, Wednesday morning about 1AM, a few short minutes of high wind with only a few sprinkles of rain, 2 streets over and 2 blocks up the street and about 3 blocks down the street lost humongous limbs on several beautiful old trees...one a gigantic magnolia been in that yard for I know for sure over 50 years.....do hope it survives the wound...and one old maple tree was just split right down the middle...almost everyone all around the town pitched in to help at least a little and it was all cleaned up by dark last night.... We were fortunate only twigs & things like that...

Ew, I just looked at the radar for where you gals are and it is icky. Diane, that's sad about the old trees. I hate to see weather take out trees. Our neighbor had a beautiful Bradford Pear (I'm allergic, but it was so pretty to see out our living room window) that go struck by lightning and it split down the middle too. They had to have it removed completely.

Chrisiti, About 3 years ago in May we lost 4 beautiful Bradford pears (sorry you're allergic) and a huge branch of a very old catalpa tree fell on the roof in the family room.....took 2 days long hours & hard work with 7 people working all the time and others in & out to help as they could...anyone who's never cleaned up even one fallen/damaged tree simply can't imagine the labor involved, not to mention the sadness & frustration...at least we had a neighbor who wanted the wood to burn for heat...if we had have been forced to haul that away, too, I guess we might still be working on it..ha!ha!
