Okay, Ennis.

SonInMe1 -> RE: The John Edwards scandal you (probably) never heard of... (!) (7/31/2008 8:18:39 PM)

A politician with a girl friend.

Boy, that IS news.

colliefan -> RE: The John Edwards scandal you (probably) never heard of... (!) (7/31/2008 10:11:13 PM)

I am not at all a Breck Girl fan but I don't want him to be slandered by false acusations. This week he announved that he is closing his college education program that during his run for pres and VP proved how much he loved the poor.

I guess there will be no more photo-ops at Wendy's for his aniversary dinner where the press takes the photos and he and wifey trash the food and take the limo tor one of Chapel Hill's fiive star retuarants,

No more jobs at a hedge fund to learn about the poor. No more chair at UNC where he can whine for free UNC bb tickets. Good bye BG and don't let the door hit you on the way out of the door.

There was another thread on this. Personally, I am waiting for some additional confirmation, as I don't have all that much trust for most of the media.

From the article in the OP:

quote:

What makes the mainstream US media ignore the Enquirer's story? Is it simple snobbery?

No, it called critical thinking and not believing something just because the Enquirer says so. While they have made some scoops, the Enquirer has also been burned on numerous occasions by people that fabricated stories to make money. Sorry, I'll wait for some more credible sources.

quote:

The scandal America doesn’t want to know about

This guy has either never been to America or has never read anything that has come from America. If there is anything that we can agree on as a country is that we love scandal, especially ones that involve politicians. Any media bias goes out the window. Despite their love for Bill Clinton, the media treated us to non-stop coverage of the whole Lewinsky scandal. I seriously doubt this is being ignored. Maybe the media is actually trying to be cautious and do their job...for once.

Well his wife does have cancer, that should make anyone cautious. Maybe they actually have a conscience. They should be cautious anyway but when its about sex all caution gets thrown out the window along with common sense and ethics. Not that the media has much of those anyway.

I really hope this ends up not being true, for Elizabeth Edwards' sake if nothing else.

from Jay Leno... ROFLOL
"The National Enquirer caught former presidential candidate John Edwards sneaking out of his girlfriend’s hotel room at the 2:40 in the morning. See, Edwards got caught ‘cause the reporters were there waiting for him...[I]f Edwards didn’t want to get caught, he should have met this woman at the hotel where John McCain was staying. There are no reporters. ... "

Do this and you're a Republican and your crucified.

Do this and your a Democrat and your honored.

Thank Bill Clinton for that

Gary Hart. Had he not messed with that blond there would have been no Bush dynasty in American politics.

Nah...Hart had no chance, anyway.

Not to mention, Clinton's dalliances were well publicized before he was elected, even the first time.

The Democrats have a saying..."Boys will be boys!" (Back-slap, cigar puff, nudge-nudge, wink-wink)

Yea, and the otter would have been a beaver if it would have only had a flat tail.

Hart did the dumb thing and dared the press to find him.

revbob4God -> RE: The John Edwards scandal you (probably) never heard of... (!) (8/1/2008 9:36:06 PM)

Let's see...Franklin Roosevelt, Andrew Jackson, Warren G. Harding even before that. A politician engaged in adultery? Frankly I am shocked. [:'(]

He was holding his own until the scandal broke then he was finished. It most definitely adversely affected his chances.

While I don't deny there seems to be a double standard (although not as radical as some say) the reason may be that Republicans run on family values and such whereas Democrats don't discuss personal morality much, at least of the sexual nature. This makes Republicans appear hypocritical, even if the Republican in question isn't a "family values" guy, stereotypes and all.

I think Bob forgot Ronald Reagan, God rest his soul but then after all, he was married to Jane Wyman when he started bird dogging nancy.

It sure would be if he was a Republican/Conservative.

Why? Because Ann Coulter said so?

Yeah like Bill Clinton. Oh wait ...

We never heard about Jesse Jackson either. Oh wait ...

I think (and would hope) this has more to do with having a little compassion for Elizabeth Edwards. Who cares about John Edwards anymore anyway?

Yeah, proof enough for me.

No, 400 dollar haircuts, a little swish in his walk, limp wrist, the way he looks at young guys, no children; etc. etc.

Did Ann Coulter see the signs also?

Thanks
RC

I Feel Pretty

mrsrevbob -> RE: The John Edwards scandal you (probably) never heard of... (!) (8/7/2008 9:51:02 AM)

Oh good night RC, Ann Coulter?
Then again, I wonder what that trollop that commentates NASCAR would say about all of this.

I did not bring Coulter into this; duderox4lisa did.

Which "Trollop" would that be?

Thanks
RC
