I watched the interview on Nightline and he kept side stepping the questions and not really answer directly. Why is this all coming out now instead of when this all had happened?

Some cynics have said that the left-leaning media purposely kept it under wraps.

I don't buy that. There certainly are elements of the "media" that are left leaning, but the media loves a scandal more than anything. The left-leaning media certainly didn't cut Clinton much slack during the non-stop coverage of the Lewinsky affair.

The story was broken by Matt Drudge. The so-called mainstream media certainly didn't do it. Get a copy of the special prosecutor's report and you'll find that much of Clinton's garbage was sifted through before the media presented it.

Did you ever hear of Juanita Broaddick? Chances are you may have heard of her in passing. She's the Arkansas business woman who said Clinton raped her. She identified where, when, the circumstances, dialog and other details. There was almost no interest in her story.

As I recall, it got a ton of attention, which is probably why I still remember it after this long.

If it was someone personal monies then there were Federal income tax laws broken, if the monies were campaign funds then federal election law was broken in numerous ways. All are felonies and most serious infractions.

The question is what did Johnny know and when did he know it?

Cheating on a Sick Spouse
quote:

Edwards' betrayal of his wife at her most vulnerable moment -- as a cancer patient -- is more common than conventional wisdom suggests, according to infidelity experts.

A mistress of former House Speaker Gingrich told Vanity Fair they had their tryst as his first wife recovered from uterine cancer surgery in the 1980s.

While McCain was married to his first wife, who was disabled from a car accident, he was "aggressively courting a 25-year-old woman who was as beautiful as she was rich," according to a New York Times colunmist's account of the 1970s incident that predated McCain's election to the Senate.

So, should we start a thread on Gingrich & McCain too?

Feel free. Though it is hard to argue they are one in the same thing in terms of time, denying it, lying about it, etc..

True.
But of the 3, which 2 have been making the most political statements these last few months?

Like I said feel free - I am not a McCain fan anyway.

The bigger issue is if any election laws were violated in giving campaign money to the mistress and the campaign worker. What was the origin of the money and who oked that payments? And this doesn't include payments to the mistress for making campaign videos when she had no prior experience in the trade,

It does show that McCain's the better politician - marry the mistress & have her finance your campaign.

I am not sure if I can blame him. His wife is not that great looking chemo-therapy and cancer does not do justice to people's looks either.
Someone gets in one those vortexes a hot looking woman is giving you attention might as well take it.

Isn't this the same story as John Kerry?

As the late, great Jester Hariston, a gospel music writer and a star of the Amen televison series would say....
