Leslie_JnJs_mom -> ER's final season (7/31/2008 1:42:10 PM)

That show ran for the longest time. I used to watch it faithfully for several years. Then it turned kinda soap opraish so I quit. I catch re runs on TNT now and then but it is really hard with so many who all want to watch the big TV in the livingroom.

Miss Giggles -> RE: ER's final season (7/31/2008 1:45:43 PM)

Yeah this last season was pretty bad but I usually watch the final seasons just to see the ending. It used to be a great show.

Kerryannism -> RE: ER's final season (7/31/2008 5:51:06 PM)

I agree 100%. It used to be a great show. It moves too slow now, its predictable as well.

frog43 -> RE: ER's final season (8/1/2008 3:27:07 PM)

I'm looking forward to this season because some of the originals will be back.

peculiar_lady2 -> RE: ER's final season (8/1/2008 8:11:22 PM)

they killed off my favorite character years ago, so I won't be watching since I don't think they will "resurrect" him for an appearance

VivaRonaldo7 -> RE: ER's final season (8/1/2008 11:54:48 PM)

Was last season ER's last season? I thought I saw a commercial on NBC that said it was coming back in the fall...

Are you talking about the one who died of a brain tumor? I can't remember his name. Was it Mark?

This coming season is the final one.

29redballoons -> RE: ER's final season (8/2/2008 6:08:03 PM)

Yeah, one of my friends told me that Carter is coming back for this final season.
I know the show is not what it used to be.
I didn't even watch it last season...just bits and pieces, couldn't really fathom that Abby
waited forever to get married only to be unfaithful within the first year...come on!

yeah...Dr Mark Greene was the characters name (played by Anthony Edwards)

kernsfamily -> RE: ER's final season (8/5/2008 9:28:19 AM)

My wife, in her "previous life" (before being a full-time mom), worked in Radiology in an ER.....she's been watching the show from DAY 1.

Since it started in 1994, and we got married in 1996, there are VERY VERY few episodes that we have missed. Still avid watchers.

The big question: Will George Clooney return for an appearance? Doug Ross (George) and Carol Hathaway (Julianna Margulies) "moved away" to Seattle at the end of the 2000 season. (they are talked about occasionally amongst the "old timers" on the show)....

My wife "studies" the show as it is going on (she records it so she can rewind if necessary)......very often she'll see them put up an X-Ray of some guy on the "lightboard" (where they read the X-Rays).....and, then tell me that the X-ray up there is really a woman's (even though it's supposed to be for a man)......as if anyone else would notice that....

A good friend of mine from back in high school in Detroit (who I found out a few years ago, lives just 3 miles from me here in Dallas).....she's a trauma/ER surgeon.....(we've always got to remind her to NOT talk about work while we're out to dinner!)......anyway, she did her "residency" or "internship" or something like that at Cook County Hospital.....before it closed a few years ago.

I am guessing that's what will happen on the TV show. The publically-funded hospital has been financially strained for years (always talking about it on the show) will simply close....

frog43 -> RE: ER's final season (8/6/2008 3:57:41 AM)

Very interesting.

wareaglekd -> RE: ER's final season (8/6/2008 1:51:24 PM)

Yeah, I think you are right. k

Well the commercials that are running show Noah Wylie walking into the ER . . .

YEP - I do that too, except I'm a nurse. I just howl at some of the mistakes they make. I really wonder if the director(s) even listen to the technical advisors?

I work for a gastroenterologist . . my friends definately don't want me to talk about work... at any time! [sm=icon_smile_yikes.gif][:'(]

That's what I'm thinking too

wareaglekd -> RE: ER's final season (8/11/2008 9:35:29 AM)

One thing's for sure, you can probably expect something wild & crazy in the finale just like St. Elsewhere. kd

Having Noah Wylie back wasn't any big surprise at all....after he left, and went into something of a "semi-retirement", he made it clear that he'd be free to come back occasionally (i think he still might even "owe" the show a few episodes in his contract).....

should be an interesting season as everything "wraps up"....

wareaglekd -> RE: ER's final season (8/14/2008 9:37:50 AM)

So, you see a possible chance of a spin off w/ Noah Wylie? k

gaylel1 -> RE: ER's final season (8/15/2008 4:05:19 AM)

The chance of Clooney coming back is like having pro football in Los Angeles. It is unlikely with Clooney's movie career he will return.

I'm glad that this show had ran its course and Warner Brothers and NBC finally this fall will bring closure to this program. This program used to be good in its heyday, but the last few years, ER was like a soap oprea and that is too bad.

teaspoon61 -> RE: ER's final season (8/15/2008 9:41:07 PM)

Ok - I've been seeing these commercials for the final season. The ad states, ". . . and a fan favorite takes their final breath."

Who do you think it is?

dmb4jc -> RE: ER's final season (8/16/2008 9:51:48 PM)

I can't wait for the final season. I haven't watched the last couple of seasons because it has become quite predictable, but I am eager to see who will return (hopefully others besides Carter).

Miss Giggles -> RE: ER's final season (8/17/2008 12:31:30 PM)

Probably Abby or Kovatch since they don't like to ever let her be happy [&:]

frog43 -> RE: ER's final season (8/17/2008 3:25:01 PM)

I think it will be Abby.

teaspoon61 -> RE: ER's final season (8/17/2008 8:50:41 PM)

Well, it's gonna be who ever got into the ambulance. I think it's gonna be Pratt.

I think Abbey & Luka will be leaving during the middle of the season.

babbred -> RE: ER's final season (9/3/2008 4:08:09 PM)

I used to watch it years ago but then drifted off. I think I'll tune in this season, though, just to say good-bye. [:(]

So, what happened to Abby and Kovatch? They were still around when I left. In fact, they had just gotten married and had their kid. Did he ever come back from Bosnia or wherever he was from?

I'd like to see Alex Kingston's character return. My husband is British, so I liked her accent and her attitude. [:D]

Who was that head doctor from the early days? The one who always said exactly what he thought and ticked everybody off? I wouldn't mind seeing him again, either. He may have been rude but he made me laugh.

Miss Giggles -> RE: ER's final season (9/3/2008 4:12:52 PM)

Abby will only appear in two episodes of the final season.

All orig cast members will be gone by February. This was all previously announced.
