Since I clean it once a week, I think I'm doing my share of the work.
So if the husband cleans the toilet, he can leave the seat up?

Lid and seat both down when not in use. I hate walking in and seeing an open toilet. It has nothing to do with falling in, or anything like that. The bathroom just looks cleaner and better kept if the lid is closed. It's attached to the seat for a reason!

That is the best argument for putting the toilet seat down that I've ever seen. That's one that I can support.

The thing is, if you don't put both the clear acrylic seat and cover down in my bathroom, all the little duckies inside them are standing on their little beaks, and that makes them dizzy.

And it hurts them

Quack.

And besides where else would you sit while in the bathroom?

Seat down, lid down.

It's simpler, easier to remember.

The important thing is to have the light on.

A friend of ours sat down on her husband one night.

Now we're talkin' sense! I voted "Should be paying attention" and that's my opinion. In reality land it's seat and lid down. I learned that by growing up with four sisters, my mother, and my grandmother.

You gave my me laugh for the day.
I put the seat down out of habit, so I don't even give it a thought. The lid? Optional, though the downstairs one should be closed up just because of its proximity to the sink and thus all the things that could easily be dropped/knocked into it.

Oh, my! One of those movement-sensitive night lights, like one I put in my husband's bathroom, would help with that!

Seat down, lid up. I didn't even have to train him... his momma did that for me.

Definitely everything down!

I've heard that when you flush with the lid up that stuff can really travel. No idea if it's true or not but I'm not taking any chances. Our kids put the seat down first, then flush.

Plus it looks much cleaner/nicer.

I'm not married, but I live with a male and a female. And I say you should just pay attention. I've never set down the toilet water because they both were up. I always check...

Plus, the only time it bothers me is when some are trying to sleep and you go into the bathroom and both are up and you have to put them down as gently as possible to try not to wake anybody up, but it's inevitable. You are going to wake somebody up.

If God meant for toilets to be open he wouldn't have put a lid on them!!!!!
