ORIGINAL: LoyalFriend I get Karate it's a sport and self defense. I get wrestling with siblings for fun or even getting a little ticked that goes without saying with siblings. I even understand when I watch football and baseball things happen in the moment and tempers go off in the heat of things. I sure get fighting to defend yourself or your woman. I still do not understand the enjoyment in just watching the ultimate fight stuff with just punching and kicking each other for a sport. Even boxing looks like they are just about punching the other guys head in for fun sport. Of course there is the money part too. What's so fun about punching and kicking each other until your opponent can't get up or is seriously injured? How can we say gang fighting is wrong if this not? Not trying to pick on any fans of it just that I don't understand it. Maybe there is more too it. My timing was off, in that I did it all (wrestling, judo, boxing, karate...), before UFC was around. If it had been around when I was younger, I probably would have gotten involved in it. Having the background in it, I do have a passing interest in watching some of the matches. Especially when it involves highly skilled people. I can "appreciate" what it takes to be one of the best at it. But even with all that past involvement, it can even get to "brutal" (and boring) to me. A match between unskilled or low level fighters, just looks like brawling to me and won't hold my interest. Not that one has to be involved in it to appreciate it. I never played (really) football, but I do enjoy watching it. But the same thing, I enjoy it more when its competitive, or being played at a high level; than non-competitive or low level.
