Hi I am wondering if anyone has read the book, "Emotionally Healthy Spirituality", by Peter Scazzero.

What do you think of it?

Lori

Yes, I have. I think it's a very good book, with a needed message. Other than joy, Christians, I think, tend not to put much stock in the emotions, but they are important in becoming a healthy, whole person.

My own experience is that emotions have been treated as being "suspect," and therefore not a serious indicator of one's spirituality. This couldn't be further from the truth.

At some point, I want to use this book for a class at church.

I am part way through, so far the ideas are good, It does seem a bit like another formula.
I will keep reading and see.

Thank you.

Laurie

Could you elaborate a bit on this, please? It's been over a year since I read it. Thanks.

Yeah I just read it a few weeks ago. I enjoyed it, it had some great concepts and ideas.

Just wondering, have you read Finish Strong by Dan Green. (finishstrong.com)

I really liked it and was wondering if anyone had read it to hear their comments/concerns/critiques..etc

:):)

Early in the first chapter the author says he has been a Christian for 17 yrs, was ready to quit, then he discouvered "a radical truth", that changed his life.

I have read a number of books that claimed just do this and all will be well, but of course it isn't.

So I nearly stopped reading but thankfully I didn't.

I did finish the book and now would highly recommend it.
It may not be what everyone needs, the timing may not be right for some but it was good for me.
