I saw a story on the news today where a person can be given a fishicure. What's that? Where you put your feet into a tank containing small fish, and they eat all the dead skin off your feet.

How do you feel about that? Would you do it?

isaacsmom -> RE: Fishicure (7/23/2008 1:53:14 PM)

I read about this yesterday!! I thought it was very interesting. Yeah, I'd try it.

doinkdom -> RE: Fishicure (7/23/2008 2:00:56 PM)

shoot...you can take a nice swim in one of our local lakes and get the same thing.

[8D]

but...seriously...naw, I don't think I'd do that

ever

sisrev -> RE: Fishicure (7/23/2008 2:16:21 PM)

Somehow it just doesn't sound too...appetizing--or sterlile, for that matter!!

firefightermama -> RE: Fishicure (7/23/2008 2:23:10 PM)

Oh, I don't know if I could do that or not. [&:]

Mrs.Dawgfan -> RE: Fishicure (7/23/2008 2:26:57 PM)

I wouldn't mind. Gotta get past the tickle. lol

landabee -> RE: Fishicure (7/23/2008 2:44:52 PM)

Not for me.

Too high on the creepy ickiness factor. [sm=eek.gif]

christsstar -> RE: Fishicure (7/23/2008 2:51:20 PM)

Very interesting.
I don't know if I could do that or not.

Sounds very similar to when they used to use leaches to suck out the blood of swollen areas.

Nicole_Michelle -> RE: Fishicure (7/23/2008 2:55:45 PM)

I wouldn't want a bunch of slimey fish eating my dead skin. [:'(]

bluestone -> RE: Fishicure (7/23/2008 2:59:42 PM)

They would have to pay me for feeding their fish.

SweetLittleErin -> RE: Fishicure (7/23/2008 4:13:39 PM)

I do it everytime we go swimming in the creek. Us "hill folk" have know it for years. I have no problems with it, but since I can get it done for free...sure wouldnt pay for it!

Nicole_Michelle -> RE: Fishicure (7/23/2008 4:26:41 PM)

lol crazy "hill folks"! [:D]

Oh yeah.... I think they should be paying us to feed their fish like bluestone said. [8D]

HisCovenant -> RE: Fishicure (7/23/2008 6:37:23 PM)

Absolutely not!!! I won't get into the ocean or a lake/pond because of the fish in there. I'm certainly not going to allow them to touch me on purpose!

MrsTracy72 -> RE: Fishicure (7/23/2008 7:22:01 PM)

I will swim in lakes with fish and I don't flip out when they nibble, but there seems to be something very wrong with going to a salon and paying someone to let you sit with your feet in a bowl of fish.

If I want to make my feet look pretty and exfoliate that bad, I will just use an enzyme peel.

manda59 -> RE: Fishicure (7/23/2008 7:34:50 PM)

Would I do it??? Noooooooooooo!!

Ewwww. Gross, gross, gross.[:'(]

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Fishicure (7/23/2008 7:41:52 PM)

Trish, I like my method much, MUCH better.

After every shower, I gently towel dry my feet, rub calendula cream all over them and then wear footies during for a few minutes while the cream absorbs into my skin. The cream is very thick.

It takes me probably 2 minutes to do this; and as long as I do it consistently, then I do have problems with dead skin and/or rough, dry, cracked feet.

I imagine any lotion, etc. would work.

For years, I used extra virgin olive oil.

And no, I've never heard of a fishicure. It doesn't sound like something I'd want to do neither.

thedivabrat -> RE: Fishicure (7/23/2008 7:42:38 PM)

What I want to know is how did someone come up with this?

MrsTracy72 -> RE: Fishicure (7/23/2008 7:43:48 PM)

They saw dollar signs.

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Fishicure (7/23/2008 7:43:49 PM)

Oh, and I will also say that if someone wants to do what I do, they need to be aware that the results will not be immediate . . . but they will eventually be forthcoming.

Georgia-Peach -> RE: Fishicure (7/24/2008 8:05:53 AM)

I have heard of this too, but I wouldn't do it. Give me a regular pedi anyday though...love them!

cherish405 -> RE: Fishicure (7/24/2008 11:57:25 AM)

I know I couldn't do it. I hate being touched on my feet. [:'(][:'(][:'(]

I don't know who came up with the idea.

Auben -> RE: Fishicure (7/24/2008 12:17:06 PM)

I don't find it disgusting but I don't know why someone would think I would pay for that.

But it's more similar to them using maggots to eat dead flesh when people have had surgery[;)]

When I remember to use coconut oil on my feet, it works really well.

[sm=icon_smile_yikes.gif][sm=icon_smile_yikes.gif][sm=icon_smile_yikes.gif]

I would have a panic attack. I'm a pretty stable person normally, but the idea of underwater critters touching my body gives me heart palpitations.

I'm a swimming pool girl too! Beaches and lakes are for sports, not swimming [8D]
