Emily - Gwen's done that about 4 times since birth ... it's awful, isn't it? only 4? WOW....Justice does that big huge spit up at least every other day....and every feeding he burps up enough that I have to have a blanket with me all the time. Mary spits up almost every feed. She has done that since birth. Many times she'll bring up a good oz or two.

Wow Emily I wish I could get the sleep you are getting!! I hope that David gets better soon, it is horrible to see them in pain. Kim- I am sorry little gwen is still sore. Maybe start keeping a food diary to see if its something that you are eating on those days when she has those hard times? Sarah- thanks for that video link, I will try it later on. Well I ate a little dairy yesterday, didn't seem to make a difference to him, he still woke every 2 hours and then from 5 it was every hour. I was thinking about the soy thing, we have been having soy butter in everything and he has been eating it too, so wouldn't he be worse by now if it was soy? Also, when I researched it, bloating and trouble with gas and wind arent the symtpoms. Myka thanks for that info, I think I read that they can do a blood test. Jennifer also told me about a blood test too (i have to pm here back to say thanks) Thank you to those who have passed on their thoughts and hugs, that really means alot to me, I don't have the support in my partner, he still just says that Nath is hungry and that I am making the same mistakes I did with Grace. So its good to come here and know I am loved.

Nicole, I hate to say this, but with Anna, she had gas problems/sleep problems until just about a month ago (21 months). I'm not trying to be negative, I'm just letting you know that you are not alone, and if your mama instincts are telling you that something is wrong- something is wrong! If you do go to the allergist, I would actually prefer the blood test- it hurts for a minute drawing blood, but the scratch test causes a lot of itching. If you do go scratch test, take some benadryl spray with you so that after the test is read, you can squirt him and give him some relief. I think you may want to try looking into wheat- can you go wheat free for a day or two? With Anna, we saw results in 12 hours- it was unbelievable! Even after we sorted things out, she still just seemed to have a violent bottom and gas would wake her up at night (though not in pain, just would wake her up and I'd have to resettle her, so not like when they are screaming in pain).

Oh, it only takes a day or two?! I could go without wheat that long. I was thinking no way will i be going without wheat for 4 weeks like I did with the dairy. So is Anna ok now? hang on, you say she still has wind, so has it settled down since she got older then? does she have wheat? I think you mentioned soy in your pm or maybe that was prudent, but he doesn't have symptoms of soy, and I did go a week without soy once before and it made no difference.

At this point, her behind is tempermental, but the days of the painful gas are LONG gone. After we got all the allergens out of the way, her gas was still loud and forceful and may have hurt as it was exploding out, but it was not the belly pains and all that - just a quick pain as the back door opened with force- not sure how else to say that! It would disturb her sleep, but it only took 2 minutes to settle her, not the 30-??? minutes of when she was in true pain/cramping. She is able to eat wheat now and we get restested for soy in September- since I took her (me) off all wheat at 2 months and she did not get any again (via me) until close to a year after being cleared, her allergy resolved itself. We noticed a decrease in her gas 8-12 hours after I quit eating wheat- I would certainly give it a few days since your little guy may not react quite as quickly, but if you notice NO change in a 2-3 day period, I would guess that it's probably not the culprit. I'm sorry your hubby is not supportive- we go through stages like that too- just hang in there and keep going for support where you can get it!

Wow Jen, you are describing Nath to a tea. Just before you hear it come out he is screaming and whilst it comes out, then after that he is fine. Yes it can take up to an hour sometimes to settle him. Well i might stick with the soy but not eat wheat for 3 days maybe and see what happens. Hmmm atleast I can eat yoghurt and fruit for breakfast though, not my beloved weet bix. Thanks so much for sharing and your support! What do you think I should say to the Paed when I go there on Wed? I will be off wheat from say mon-wed or sun night even so it may start to change by the time I go. Is there anything I should say to him do you think?

Nicole U.S., Timmy spit up after ever feed too until he was 6 months old. Didn't bother him much though. Jimmy did too for the first few months.

It got on Chris' pants and he was freaking out. He jumped up, handed David to me (I was pumping and trying to eat dinner) and ran to shower. This morning David spit up in my hair and on my pillow and I didn't get to shower until 4:00. LOL I think that's kind of typical of a guy, mummy's get used to it day in and day out. Kim- you should be sleeping!! Hopefully she has a good sleep. That's the annoying thing huh? you never know when they will have a good night or a rotten one.

Am I crazy for wanting to put my 20 month old in ballet lessons? Actually by the time classes start she'll be more like 22 months. The city has a ballet class for 18-30 month olds. I'm just not sure how well Akeelah would take direction (in other words, probably just be running around the whole time) at this time. But she loves dancing, is always dancing around the house, trying to copy moves she sees on So You Think Can Dance (seriously) so I knew I would put her in dance classes but I didn't think the opportunity would come so soon.

Nicole- is the doctor working with you? My pediatrician was not helpful, only the allergist. If you think he might have helpful information, I'd ask his opinion, otherwise I'd try to get to an allergist if you can- I don't think I'd have ever thought of soy on my own, but it is in everything you eat when you don't eat wheat (which if that ends up being the issue, I can give you lots of ideas so you aren't totally deprived) which is why we were still seeing some reaction but not as bad as it was. Tammy- what a BIG boy! Emily- most dad's just don't deal well with how gross babies really are... Me, I clean up if I've been puked on, but pee... If it is a spot less than a half dollar, I figure it will dry and "they" say it's sterile anyway My sister had her baby in May- he pooped up to his shoulder blades, so she decided to give him a bath (first time by herself), got him out of the bath and he peed everywhere- soaking his new, clean outfit. She got that cleaned up and picked him up- he looked at her, burped, and then puked all through her hair and down her back... that would be when she started crying and called my mom It's funny to her now, but not that day!

Yeah, Mary doesn't care two bits if she spits up. She'll just pick up right where she left and keep chompin on her hand or toy or what ever she had been doing at that moment.
