Nicole ... when you do start eliminating soy, it'd be in your best interest to Google all the different names for it, just so you make sure you nab it all ... Things like textured vegetable protein, vegetable protein isolate, etc ... there are so many names for it -- we've had to eliminate them all because of our sons and their allergies.

Thanks Kara, yes Ryanne told me about that, I did go off soy fora bout a week a few months ago, it hadn't made any difference and my paed said to not bother So Sarah you said rice could be the problem too? The only rice he does have would be in the morning in his cereal, its the night times when he is the worse. So do I go, no soy? no rice? how long will each one take. Dairy is the longest I think to stay out of the system, I think I read that. does anyone else know?

If you stop that one now....use oatmeal if necessary. Rice is a pretty common allergy. Try to go back in your mind though....was he on cereal this whole time he has had that much trouble? How much rice do you personally eat?

no he wasn't on rice when this started, i can clearly remember it happening about 2 weeks before Christmas, so he was almost 3 months, he wasn't on any solids til about 5.5 months, and I would only eat rice maybe once a fortnight (every two weeks only once, sometimes only once a month, hubby doesn't like it). So I guess using that, then rice probably isn't it. But I do have some oats I could give him that will gill him up more.

ok I will try no soy again as of monday. I might slowly have a bit of dairy here and there up until monday and see what happens. I will record it all too so I have something to show the Paed.

I just wanted to say Nicole, you are one AMAZING woman. There is no way I would have stuck with breastfeeding this long in your situation, you are a GOOD mom making all these sacrifices for your little man. I am praying you find something soon. Praying for sleep too. Everything seems worse when you're lacking sleep. (((hugs)))

Amen to what Yolanda said. I had a very good relationship with my first, and I still don't feel ready to take that on again. I know it's good for the baby, it's just a hard thing to take on, even under the best of circumstances, never mind having complications.

Thanks Yolanda, I needed to hear that today. I appreciate what you wrote. Thanks to you too Ruth. I just ate a bite of a Mars bar. I am going to have cheese on my sandwich and that's it with dairy for today. I can't wait for cheese. Oh how I have missed it! Thanks Nicole, yes he is a goof ball, wish I could post the video of it but I can't work out how to do it on facebook without having to put it on dumb youtube.

Oh man, I missed cheese so much too when I gave up dairy for Timmy for a while. I seriously had cheese on a sandwich everyday and drank a pint of chocolate milk everynight, so it was hard for me too. Are you looking forward to your Weetbix with warm milk?

Thanks Nicole. You are the only person I know who puts warm milk on cold cereal. LOL! I've been meaning to get some Weetabix, but it isn't covered by WIC, and we usually don't eat more or less cereal than they give us. One of these days. I'm getting kinda sick of the selection we get. Glad he likes the rice milk, yeah that stuff is nasty. I tried it when I was cutting out dairy. I bought the smallest carton they had and loaded it up with chocolate Quik, nd it was still nasty. Glad Nathy likes it though. Lactaid is pretty yucky stuff too, that's what Timmy has now. I'll cook with it occasionally and can't tell, but I can't just have it with cereal or as chocolate milk. Jimmy is such a weird teether. The first teeth he got were the top two, then one on the bottom then the other finally. He had 4 on the top and on the bottom. Now he has 4 molars, but the canines don't even look like they're coming in, so he's just got a blank space between #2s and molars. LOL! Timmy was so funny today. We went to the school to play on their playground since school's out right now and it's the closest one. Well, when we went there the other day, Timmy fell down backwards down the stairs going up to the slide (handfulls of tanbark to watch slide down). It really scared him since he slid down on his back. But, he wasn't injured, no bruises, not even 1 hour redmarks. So, when we went today after playing on other slides and structures, he walked over to the lone slide he fell down and layed down at the bottom of the stairs and said, "Timmy fall down, you poor guy" Then he got up and said "It's OK big boy, ssssshhhhhhh" LOL! Isn't that so cute and funny!? I asked him, "Are you gonna go down that slide?" He said "No fall down". And, lately he's been "ssssshhhhhh"ing his brother when Jimmy gets hurt or cranky and crying. It's too funny.

That's cute Christina LOL yeah I tried to load up the rice milk with plain drinking chocolate as the Milo I drink has milk product in there, but it tasted gross, but it wasn't so bad added to a hot cup of drinking chocolate, I only added a little, and I put marshmellows in it too!

Milo is along the same line as Nestle Quik ... but a very noticeable difference in flavour/taste!!! (Kinda cross Quik with Ovaltine and throw something else in there 'just because')

Milo is the name of a malt drink (its like a drinking chocolate but gritty). Oh Christina its sooooo nice. I think nestle make it. I am not sure if its the same as the NZ one, but I would think its pretty much the same. In high school my friend and I stole a 1 kilo tin (HUGE) from the home economics room and we hid it under this transportable classroom. Every lunch for like 2 weeks we would sit with spoons and eat it LOL they never bought milo at our school again after that.

The Milo you can get over there is good ... the Milo we get here is definitely lacking ......... (Kim brought a tin with her, and then when she got a tin here ... oh boy, the difference in taste was night and day ... I can't stomach our Milo after trying hers!)
