You could bring the fortifier with you and add it right before he drinks it, couldn't you? When Noah had bottles, I would just bring bottles of water and then mix them as I needed them.

ORIGINAL: SweetLittleErin Does anyone know if I add fortifier (small amount of formula) does that change the "rules" to formula ones? I'm not sure of the answer, but after Timmy was born, I had sooooo many questions. I just called the maternity ward I gave birth to him at because there are nurses there 24 hours and they don't put you on hold for very long. For the first month or so they were able to answer questions for me.

what are the rules on frozen? Can I take a bottle of frozen, or rather, an envelope of frozen and just let it thaw in the bag? Off to Kelly mom. Something has been nagging me to get some frozen milk put up and I'm working on getting the pump to work for me since I haven't used it in forever. I think my life would be much easier if I could take abottle of milk out to feed her when we are out places. The whole Nursing in public thing is sooo OVER for her, she wants to look around and will NOT tolerate being covered anymore. at all. drama queen.

You can let it thaw on the counter, in the fridge, or in a bowl of warm water. And yes, it can thaw in the bag.

So if I take it in a cooler bag thing and thaw in a cup of warm water at a restaurant that would be ok? Now to find a super small cooler bag. Thanks Ry. OH AND someone just tell me it's normal.... Over the last few days we've had a very tumultuous relationship between my breasts and Isabels mouth. She would REFUSE to nurse for hours. HOURS. During the day only, nighttime was normal. I think I've finally figured out she just wanted to change up her routine. Now she wants to nurse AFTER she wakes up. She used to be before hand always. Talk about frustrating. Seriously I wondered if something was wrong with me. AND She's starting to get ANGRY when she gets tired if we don't get her down fast enough for a nap. I'm talking screaming red face, tears streaming down, hardly breathing between screams I thought something was wrong with her. She crashes almost instantly if I get her when she has her tired eyes. Crazy kid.

You don't even have to put in a cooler bag, I used to just toss it in a pocket in the diaper bag so it wouldn't get stuff wet. Since it's already frozen it will stay cold enough, provided you aren't planning on being out for hours and hours.

I'm working on increasing my supply right now. I don't get to nurse much during the day because I'm a full time student now and Evangeline is in childcare for about 6 hours a day. I pump as much as I can, but I've had to supplement it with formula and my supply has been dwindling fast. I'm taking 4 capsules of Fenugreek 3 times a day. Will that help?

Emily THIS tea works AMAZINGLY well for me. One cup and I notice a difference. I'm boosting my supply to get some stored up and the tea is a tremendous help right now.

I didn't have much luck with fenugreek either. Like Erin suggested, I did have success with Reglan both times though. Do you live in the states or Canada? If you live in Canada, you can get domperidone....dunno if that's how you sell it, but Ryanne said that stuff is supposed to be way better than Reglan.

I never had much luck with Reglan or Fenugreek or any of the other things I tried. I wish I had gotten the Domperidone but hubby wasn't really for it so I didn't push it. It just all depends on your body. The breast feeding doctor I went to said that you'd have to drink a gallon for the Mother's Milk Tea to work and that More Milk Plus (found at motherlove.com) was a more concentrated formula and much better. Since Brandy reacts so well to the tea, the doctor may have only been speaking of my situation (where Fenugreek and Reglan didn't work). Also, herbals can be taken with prescriptions--they work differently and can actually compliment each other. I'm still sore and still massaging, applying heat, etc. The lump in my left breast is moving toward my nipple...that just seems strange to me. I'm sure it'll go away eventually.

if I fast, but keep up the water....could that affect my milk supply (I am exclusivly pumping)? I am also taking the fenugreek.... just need to know as I really don't want to affect my milk supply.. but I am also desperate for God to move in different aspects in my life..... I am torn...

How long were you thinking of fasting? If it's just for a day I think it would be OK as long as you are drinking and taking your vitamin.

Or you could do something like a Daniel fast...you can have fruits, veggies, whole grains, and all the water or juice you want. No meat, no dairy, no sweets. That would be fine to do while nursing. I can never do a full fast because my blood sugar crashes and I get really sick. God sees the heart, even if you can't do a full fast, He knows you are seeking Him and that is what is important.

I fasted today while at work till like 3:45 ...I know its not about how long you go for and such.. and that God judges the heart....and I did notice that by the third pumping session today I was getting NOTHING...I did get less today.. but I am ok with that. I will fast again tomorrow and see how we go. My husband has a job interview tomorrow so I really wanted to seek God. I know what you guys mean about fasting from TV or so... but I really haven't been watching any tv.. I am trying to read the bible more etc... anyways... this is off topic.. but I just wanted to let you know. I am going to try to increase the water 9I have been bad on that for a while) and maybe increase the fenugreek as well....my baby is 3 months tomorrow and he is on breast milk for like 90% of the time .. I will give him a formula bottle in the middle of the night cause am too tired to go downstairs and heat a breast milk up.. and also on Sunday...he gets maybe 2 extra formula while at church if his feeding time was in the middle of church service. I am tooting my own horn but I am kind of proud that I have kept the milk supply this far with just exclusivly pumping.. I never thought it was going to work. He was 7 lbs 15 when he was born... at 2 month he was 13lbs something.. he averaged 3 lbs each month so I was happy. Anyways.. that was just a long awaited update on baby Joshua. He is such a blessing in our life. He is such a happy baby in spite of all that we are going through...God bless him

I had to post this little 'YAY!' moment. I nursed Rhys in public today, twice. Without a blanket and no one was the wiser. That is the first time in my life I've nursed in public. Having a nursing shirt helped. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be!
