Last night was seafood at a restaurant.

Tonight is a new recipe: Chinese-5 powder steak with polenta. I may serve broccoli or red peppers & onions as a side dish. I'll decide later.

It turned out good (the barley part, anyway - the soup was bland). It seems like the barley didn't stick as much as rice does.

Pork, pork, and more pork. Please PM me if you have ideas for a new creative use for pork. We have fresh ham steaks (like pork chops)...so we had those at breakfast. At lunch, we had it ground & made raman mix with that. For supper, it was patties with some BBQ sauce.

Did Ellie bring you the leftover mac and cheese from FOT?

Nope. I cooked for the first time in three weeks. It was nice.

I asked to save meals for days when we have lots of appointments, and for after the baby is born. I've really been missing cooking for my family.

I'm not sure, either chicken or mince.

I asked J to get some meat out for dinner, thought he hadn't done so, so I pulled some chicken out about two hours later. About five minutes ago I went to use the microwave only to find a bag of mince sitting on a plate in there, happily half defrosted.

I think you spelled it right.

Either tuna casserole or Hamburger Helper.

Chicken gumbo over brown rice. Not usually a summer meal, but the weather is unseasonally cool today and I'm overrun with fresh tomatoes! Getting ready to stew them . . . . .

Maybe some chocolate banana bread for dessert. I have overripe bananas.
