How are projects going for everyone? I have been working on the project for the church. Last night I made a mistake and this morning had to rip out an hour's worth of work. Hopefully I won't repeat the mistake--once it took me 3 days to finish one row on a table cloth--because I had made errors on earlier rows and had to rip out 3-6 rows and start over 3 times--working with thread on a table cloth. I bought a bunch more yarn for sweaters...still haven't finished even one (it is started...but I'm not sure what I did with the pattern). My next priority will have to be sewing a western shirt for my son. He will need it for an upcoming horse show (April). He had his first riding lesson with his horse (now in training) on Saturday. The trainer wants my son to ride in a show before the big one to make sure his clothes, etc. are all in order for the big show, so I've got about a month. I hope one of my sewing machines works.... rebakablam, Have you tried socks yet? cherish405, have you how is your practice with increasing and decreasing?

I haven't been doing any knitting lately. It's been over 100F and the temperatures keep rising. I'll get back to it when the temperatures cool down again.

The ones you are referring to are on the other side of the country from me, however, our state has been having fires too. Somebody's been starting fires in bush about 15 minutes drive north of us.

it's a site for crocheters and knitters. you can upload what projects you are workign on, but i use it to download patterns..not all of the patterns are free but most are. they also have a forum which can be quite helpful.

Has anyone here done any felting? How much does wool knitted stuff shrink when it's washed (aka How much bigger than i want it do I need to make something that will be felted)? Does felted knitting curl the way regular knitting does? I just bought my son a whole bunch of stuff in preparation for a big nationals qualifying horseshow this spring and would like to make a saddle blanket to match the shirt...and figure something felted might work best (primarily because using the knitting machine is faster than crochet...and because regular knit and crochet stretch more than might be desired).

How are projects coming? The big project I am working on for the church is now in the most difficult stage--the words. However, so far it looks pretty good. I'm hoping to have it finished by this summer. I haven't yet started on the saddle blanket project. Haven't got the knitting machines back together yet. I have a little less than one month...I do have the yarn to test a gauge swatch.

I've finally started on my scarf project. I can't always do it as my hands swell, and I also have fibromyalgia. When that's not bugging me though, at least I've made a start on the scarves, even if I'm sitting in the air conditioning whilst I'm doing it.
