1) Why don't you start one, John? You're the one with enough time to write 3432 posts

I have participated in them...

2) I don't think I run away from these lovely conversations, John - just check the ongoing thread

You did regarding the rape question..... Just check the thread...

And, I will bring up flaws with the Republicans because they champion the pro-life cause, yet they can't even agree on the correct stance to have, vote in favor of appointments like Breyer and Ginsburg, co-lead the gang of 14 - and yet want to be wear the 'pro-life' crown. Not buying it!

I don't buy it either as I have stated many times... Though I don't use that to rationalize voting for some one who without a doubt doesn't take issue with murdering the unborn...

Nice to see you... :)

1) So, if I may be so bold, who gets your vote then, John? It's not Obummer, McSame... certainly not Nader...Ron Paul is out of the race....then how about Bob Barr?

2) I acknowledge that my stance on abortion: rape and incest exceptions for abortion (the same ones that McCain and Bush have) are inconsistent, and logically make no sense. But, as I have stated, I just can't tell a victim of rape, incest what to do in that circumstance, John. I have said this over and over again - I frankly do not know what else to say.

3) I just can't vote for Bob Barr because he wants to cut our contributions to the UN and, from his statements, he is not pro-environment.

I honestly want the pro-life Democrat population to grow, and I think it is. Look at Obummer - his short list includes: Tim Kaine (pro-life), Evan Bayh (voted to ban partial birth abortions) and Joe Biden (also voted to ban partial birth abortions).

It is going to come down to the wire with me this time. McSame is considering pro-choice vps. I will definitely be watching the political beat this weekend - Obummer will announce on Sat and McSame will surely follow the next day...

And I like that little dash of sarcasm at the end - it adds a bit of flavor to your post. It's nice to see...

Peace and God bless,

None of the above...

I can't tell them it's ok to murder the child... That's not founded in love...

The UN is clearly and without remorse anti- God so that doesn't bother me...

Pandering to those of the right leaning middle... That's no sign that Obama or the Democrats are working to change their evil ways regarding abortion...

My opinion... Abortion will maintain its course with McCain... Roughly 3500 daily... Though with Obama and his staunch support of the murder of the unborn I do fear it could grow...

Regardless... When Christ returns it will cease and those who used it to cover other sins, make a living and used it to gain and maintain a seat of power are going to have a tough time explaining to the Judge why and no secular argument will suffice and worst, no Advocate...

Well, I'm going to do all I can to support pro-life Democrats. And, I will pray about my own stance on abortion (that it be legal only in the 3 exceptions).

And, alright then - I generally do like to argue with those I differ with, as I feel I learn more, and I have learned a lot from you.

Take care, Peace and God bless,

Wow, I thought those were more extinct than the do-do!

Can you name just 1 pro-life Democrat in the US Congress? One who has actually voted against his/her party on abortion legislation... and not just identified him/herself as pro-life during a campaign?

I can't remember any since the 80s. (I think Al Gore used to be one, but we all know what happened there.)

Let's pray that pro-life democrats can exert a little more influence in Congress. They have not had much of a chance in over 2 decades in terms of drafting the Democratic Party platform. In fact, they have been effectively silenced and censored. I recall, I believe it was 1992, that a pro-life group of delegates wanted to address the Democratic Convention but they were flatly denied. That has continued to this day. Let's see if any get to air their views next week at the convention.

Amen to that! Yes, unfortunately, pro-life democrats have been slapped in the face, and ridiculed for their stance by some in their own party. But, I believe the measure of a person is what you do in the face of adversity. The pro-life Dems still stand proud with their position, which is definitely admirable.

Not only that, but with an absence of sarcasm herself! It not only adds to her credibility but makes it easier to accept. gentleness and respect... very Biblical.

Actually, I didn't know it was sarcasm (if it was ) - I thought you were sincere. I always assume sincerity until I see many of your posts (which I have not).

If you meant to be sarcastic - no big deal to me - I grew up with 3 brothers, I have pretty thick skin. I prayed for a sister - however, 3 brothers may have done very well for me, considering...God really does have a plan for everyone, I know :)

If you didn't mean to be sarcastic - sweeeeeet - I have more of a mellow vibe myself.

Irregardless- no worries.

Take care, Peace and God bless,

I think I got them all. Yes, I'm difficult - that's the thing about me ;)

Peace and God bless,

Nicely done, Liz.

Thanks, SwedishCovenant- you are very unbiased (which is very rare and coveted), and I take your statement as a huge compliment because I strive to be unbiased.

Well, I'm going to do all I can to support pro-life Democrats. And, I will pray about my own stance on abortion (that it be legal only in the 3 exceptions).

I'm too tired to go back to one of my posts where I posted this, so I'll copy, paste those Democrats that scored higher than McCain from the nrlc.org - McCain scores a 66%.

From the House:

Jim Marshall (D-GA-8) X X O X X X NV 5 1 83%
Dan Lipinski (D-IL-3) O X O X X X X 5 2 71%
Jerry Costello (D-IL-12) X X O X X X X 6 1 85%
Joe Donnelly (D-IN-2) O X O X X X X 5 2 71%
Brad Ellsworth (D-IN-8) X X O X X X X 6 1 85%
Bart Stupak (D-MI-1) X X O X X X O 5 2 71%
Collin Peterson (D-MN-7) X X O X X X X 6 1 85%
Gene Taylor (D-MS-4) X X O X X X X 6 1 85%
James Oberstar (D-MN-8) X X O X X X O 5 2 71%
Mike McIntyre (D-NC-7) X X O X X X X 6 1 85%
Heath Shuler (D-NC-11) X X O X X X X 6 1 85%
Charlie Wilson (D-OH-6) O X O X X X X 5 2 71%
Lincoln Davis (D-TN-4) NV X O X X X X 5 1 83%
Alan Mollohan (D-WV-1) O X O X X X X 5 2 71%
Nick Rahall (D-WV-3) O X O X X X X 5 2 71%

Peace and God bless,

Let's not get carried away with deceiving people.

Deceptions:
1. You're comparing apples to oranges, House to the Senate. The bills they have voted on are not all the same subject or, even when they are, they are different versions.

2. McCain has cast three votes this year rated by the NRLC. He got two right and one wrong. The one wrong vote was NOT about abortion, but stem cells. McCain has cast no votes against abortion this session.

3. Using only THREE votes to represent McCain's legislative record is nothing if not deceitful. The sample size is so small that no serious person would regard it as representative.

How pitiful is it that out of what, 230 or 240 Democrats in the House, you found 15 who might be pro-life. That is pathetic. You'd find more Jewish sympathizers among 240 Nazis, more black sympathizers among 240 slave owners.

And lets not give them too much credit because they helped install radically pro-abortion leadership.

ljmac,

Many people, including yourself, use the nrlc.org as a yardstick. Either you use them, or you don't at all. You can't use it at your covenience, ljmac.

And for crying out loud - the pro-life Democrats are there whether you like it or not. I mean, it's funny that you're apparently not happy about it. It is and should be a good thing.

Try and have a happy day, Peace and God bless,

It is highly unlikely that abortion will be abolished completely in one shining moment. Rather it will be abolished in stages. Christians need to continue work at the heart level to love mothers, convince people of the nobility of motherhood and the sacred nature of life, and making adoption free and easy.

On a different level, anti-abortion laws need to be passed and current abortion laws need to be done away with. If the first step in that is legalizing abortion except in specific cases, then that is an incredible step. Even if it HALVES the rate of abortion in the US, that is still hundreds of thousands of precious little babies saved every year.

John McCain is not the ideal pro-life cadidate, but a big factor he has going for him is that he will appoint just judges whose influence will last for decades. Another big factor he has going for him is that he is not Barack Obama, Mr. Planned Parenthood himself, who will do all he can to make sure that we have all-murder-all-the-time for a long time to come.

John McCain was wrong on the issue of stem-cell research, and is wrong to include a rape/incest clause. But he is the best chance we have to stand in the way of the murderous Democratic party.

Sadly it's Mr.Obama stance on abortion that makes Mr.McCain stance looks so pro-life...
