I once heard of a minister who brought a brick with him on Sunday morning and had it with him at the pulpit while he was preaching. He never once referred to it during his sermon. Later, when people asked him what the brick was for, he told them, "Nothing, but while you were waiting to find out, you listened to my entire sermon!"

lol on the minister.

this is true- they used to mix brick dust with buttermilk and rub it into wood to give it a kind of finish.

Hold up a broken septic line in the crawl space.

Screen door prop.

Dry stack to build bookcase shelves, and use as book ends.

To hold a pie pan over an old roof leak or vent stack.

Hold old windows open that won't stay open on their own.

To hold plastic down on the same broken down car sitting on bricks... because one day they'll git around to fixin' it up.

To hold up a mail box someone hit with a truck mirror.

As a door knocker... brick on a rope.


Yes... I've seen all of these. It's amazing what I see in my biz inspecting other peoples homes. [8D]

so I guess this isn't limited to "A" brick....

carry one on the motorcycle with a note tied to it... so when someone changes into the motorcycle's driving lane without giving enough clearance, toss the brick into the window so they can read the note," watch for motorcycles".
