I know for girls that looks is about 20-30% when you decide a guy is attractive. What type of guys attracts you? and the bigger question why?

Don't be general... Example don't just say a guy who loves God. How should he show his love for God? Does he minister, teach, or play music what? Be specific!

smart ones, ones that I can trust, and yes, ones that love God and show it by their actions and pray for their family.

M'love is bright, likes to play, prays, is trustworthy, etc.

Strong, confident men. Men who aren't afraid to travel across the world to share the word of God. Men who are close to their families and respect his parents. Men who are happy.

Just curious, where did you get this statistic?

Let's see:

There needs to be some sort of physical attraction, of course. But, I have also found that a man who may have a lot of the qualities I am looking for, becomes more attractive to me, even if they are not exactly the type I normally like.

Specifically though:
I like a tall man, 6' or more usually. Someone I can feel safe with. Someone who does take some pride in their appearance and has good hygiene. A man who is honest, LOYAL, COMMITTED, does not play games. Someone who shares my values and beliefs. I would prefer a mam who is involved in church in some way. A man who is stable and financially secure and good with their money. A family type man as I have 2 children. Someone who is laid back meaning, not an angry jump to be angry and argumentative. Someone who is mentally and emotionally stable. A man who will share similar interests as mine. Someone I could be a true partner with and plan common goals with.

I am pretty specific and do have high standards. But, as a Christian, we should have high standards. I also want a man who respects my boundaries. Who will RESPECT me. I will be honest and say that this is the kind of man I am praying for and that this kind of man is not easy to find.

i like someone who isn't afraid to stand up for what he believes even though people say he's wrong. I like a guy who shows his love for God just in the things that he does, like praying for people and serving and encouraging.
I like a guy that knows how to dress and dresses well.

I like a guy who can cook. [:D]

A man who will pray for a sister in Christ.

A man who will protect his sisters in Christ from playahs and other harmful people and things.

A man who stands for the same thing all the time, in and out of every season.

All that and he's gotta be tall, dark and remarkably handsome[:D] (I'll have to introduce you to my husband.)

Exactly! A man who shows his faith through his actions and unconditional love to everyone around him, as the adage goes his actions speak louder than his words. A man who is becoming Christlike as opposed to the religious churchgoer whom you cannot probably distinguish from others.

Clean cut, nice smile, kind, respectful, honest and who openly enjoys his faith. Will reach out and openly pray with others.

Faith displayed....these are the things I would look for. This is not a list of required qualities, just things I truly admire in a man.

immovable, calm in difficult situations, won't loose his cool, Is as comfortable ministering to an elderly man as he is a child. Unpretentious, comfortable on the sidelines or on stage. Comfortable in the role of leader in many capacities. As a leader is able to direct others without them even knowing they are being told what to do. Passionate.
NOT Wimpy!

The kind of man who doesn't waste his time trying to determine what so-called "women" want, but lives his life as he wants, knowing that either he'll meet someone, or he won't, either way, he's happy with himself.

Well, for me I wanted to date with the intention of getting married. So with that in mind, here are the particular characteristics I looked for:

Loves God and is a Christian
Leadership skills
Understands and speaks Japanese (so he can converse w/my parents)
Understands Japanese customs and traditions (so he can relate to my parents)
Musically inclined (plays some sort of instrument)
Good with kids
Understanding
Compassionate
Good listener
Unashamed of showing emotions (i.e. openly weeping in front of me)
1-2 years my senior

Some not-so-much of a priority stuff:
Taller than me
Needs to have some "cushion"
No skinny/scrawniness
May have a bit of tubbiness around the mid-section

My husband is all of the above. [:D][:D][:D]

The kind of men that attract me are:
- Christian (the ones who are real christians)
- Single
- Studying or studied uni or college to have a good career
- Honest
- Great sense of humor ( I love a guy who can make me laugh [:D] )
- Looks aren't really important, but as long as the guy knows how to dress himself properly and has good hygiene
- Loves soccer, because I am a soccer freak!!!
- Guys who take charge!!! (see below for details)


The ones who can take charge really attract me ...
Like of course I don't mean the "macho" kind of guys, but the ones who is independant and doesn't really need their mom, g/f, friend etc to direct them into their own path
Of course, advice and opinion from people is different, but guys who can take charge of their own life
The ones who are confident to go up to a girl and have a good conversation with her and tries to get to know her by all means necessary, even if it doesn't work out

wimpiness = turn-off to me

Someone who is a gentleman to all women, even the annoying not-so-attractive ones. [;)] If he's a good talker and witty that catches my attention and if he's excited about travelling the world and isn't bogged down by having to be "the provider" then I'd marry him!

genuinely kind but not a push-over, and not for a show, a kindness that just comes naturally and almost unnoticed to bystanders.

cares about his appearance but isn't obsessed with it, can spill something on himself at dinner, clean it as best as he can, be bummed but not freak out about it.

Must love music, preferably plays drums or guitar. Appreciates beautiful things on a deep level, but doesn't have to cry over a breath-taking painting. Sensitive in a sexy and casual kind of way, not as an eccentric.

Loves a quiet empty afternoon, but can switch gears in a moment and plunge into something exciting.

Appreciates sport cars, may even own one in his life time, but doesn't have to have one. Doesn't find his identity in image or stuff. Sees people rather than what they have or don't have... really sees them.
Values what's important.

Gentle, strong, patient, challenging, forgiving, willing to listen, willing to teach, not crowding or pressuring me constantly, giving me room to fail or to change, sensual, physical, spiritual, leading those that are weaker, following right authority, having integrity, honest, truthful, faithful, protector, provider, companion, friend, lover, stranger... like Christ <3

* Willing to permit me to exercise my spiritual gifts
* Friendly, Courteous, Polite
* Supportive, Motivating, Caring
* An attentive listener
* Debt-free and financially secure
* Virgin / never married
* Committed to his calling / career
* Likes (and is kind to) animals
* Politically conservative
* Willing to be the spiritual head of the household
* In agreement with me on the issue of children
* In agreement with me on theological matters
* In agreement with me on how to handle money/finances/debt

-- oh and a man that appreciates word play, with a sense of humor, witty in a clever kind of way, even cheesie at times, but not insisting that everyone find him amusing. That kind of silliness that reveals the little boy that he will always be at heart.

I also liked what someone said earlier... intelligent,
but without trying too hard, not having to convince me or anyone else that he is.

Well, I do want to have a Christian guy. I would love to have a guy where he puts Christ before anyone else, including myself. I would want him to have God as the center of his life.

I need honesty, compassionate, sense of humour, a GREAT listener, nonjudgmental, etc.
All my boyfriend haven't been Christians. It's so hard to find a Christian. I have guys liking me already, but they are all nonchristians. But I am not going to date them because they AREN'T Christian.

I'm not going to lie, but looks do matter. But if a guy is pretty good looking, but his attitude sucked? Then no, I will definitely not date him. Looks aren't everything, but I do think that they do matter.

I need a guy where we have a lot of chemistry. Unlike a lot of people, I don't care if the guy is a lot like me. If we have plenty of chemistry, then I'll go for it. Of course, I would love to have similar interests. But like the saying says, "opposites attract."

You look so young in your pic, but you seem to have sooooo much wisdom. You have set some excellent standards, Godly standards. Stick to them. I know you don't know me, and it doesn't really matter, but I am so proud of you. I love to see beautiful young woman, not settle for less that God wants for them, to not base everything on looks just because other people do. You seem to see into the heart of people, especially guys, you're a smart girl . Especially pay attention to how he treats other people, his family, the women in his life, and people he is in conflict with. No guy will ever be perfect, and all guys have a measure of anger (so does Christ), but how does he handle himself in such relationships. That will reveal alot about his character.

You seem to be seeking God in the matter, I pray and trust that he will lead you to that right man that he has planned for you someday. Just remember that relationships are complicated. We wish and dream and plan... but the reality is that it can be a bumpy road. With Christ by your side and constant conversation with him, you'll find that right guy. Love to you. Ur awesome ^_^

Yes, I'm hoping so too! Just like the scripture tells us, "God will give us the desires of our heart if we delight in him." & hopefully it's in his will to have me married to an amazing Christian man. I just recommitted my life to Jesus Christ in early May. I was dating a nonchristian. And God was just nagging at my heart telling me, "He's not the one." So I had to break up with him. It was sooo hard to do. So so hard. But after I did, I felt peace surround me. So hopefully, I do find an AMAZING Christian guy. (and yes, I was 18 in that picture, I'm 19 now) :]

A kind, intelligent, confident, caring, strong, secure, independant, peaceful, smart, trustworthy, God-fearing, saved, sanctified, strong man...who loves to laugh, but knows when to be serious.
