I"m in a no exercise slump too. I think I got a bit burned out on the running and needed to take a break.

I wouldn't be able to watch my weight if I was opening up a restaurant, either

Yeah, and it's Italian none the less. Pasta! HereI come!!

So i'm new to this thread. When I worked in an Italian restaurant I never ate anything. It was always too hot, or after being around it all day you didn't want it.

My goal is to lose 50 lbs. Since 2004 i've lost 75. Most of it is due to some medications i'm on. Well I quit them for a while and am now starting back again. So I hope to lose 50 more. I'd be very happy with just 30 more though.

I haven't gone running in about a week and a half. I need to run tonight.
I've been good eating-wise, and I have been walking. But I need to run. Haven't done my yoga either though.

I'm the opposite, I really can't go without working out more than a day or two. That's probably because it's also my social outlet in a lot of ways. It's the food I struggle with perpetually. I was doing so good at the beginning of the summer - when dh was committed. He fell off the wagon and it's gotten a thousand times harder for me. I can't let that be an excuse and I can't let him pull me off track. Back on this week and I've got to stay there!!

Now that I've made it a habit to exercise, I get antsy if I can't do it. I'm trying to take a day of rest every other Sunday, and sometimes it's very hard. Last Sunday I ended up taking the dog on a long walk because I just couldn't sit still.

Where'd we go?? We gotta snap out of this slump ladies! With school starting, I'm kinda frenzied this week and telling myself that next week I'll be back on my "normal" schedule. But we can't say "tomorrow...." - gotta stay focused here.

My food has been much better the last couple of days. I missed my lifting on Monday because of a meeting at school so I did it Tuesday. That was good to keep me on track but very bad when I had to teach a sculpting class last night! I'm so sore this morning. But thankfully it's mostly my upper body because I've got a step class tonight to teach. I'm going to try to get a move on this morning and go to my friend's 8:30 step too. I missed that class yesterday for a playdate. I'm not sure if I'll be ready to lift again tomorrow or not! With two cardio workouts today, my goal will be 200g protein, 146g carbs, and 35g fat....1700 cal. I hope I'm not going too low again, though.

What the plan for today, ladies?!?!

Today's plan: Eat right!!! I avoided indulging in brownies last night, but then dreamt about eating them. I even woke up feeling guilty! How silly is that?

I'm trying to quit smoking right now too so exercise has been on the back burner. My plan is on Monday when Marsh-man starts back to school to get in a morning exercise routine. I will be getting him on the bus at 7:00am, then I'm leaving straight from the bus stop to take a 20 minute walk. I'm going to try it this weekend to make sure that leaves me with enough time to get home and shower before I have to be at work. I know 20 minutes isn't much, but it's a start. Hopefully from there I'll be able to add in an evening routine also.

I was out running by myself the other night, and I was thinking of everyone else who had started the C25K.

Kat, how are you doing?

Sandy and Ryanne, are you guys still at it?

DaughterofFaith, how about you?

Amy, what week are you on now?

Stacy?

Anybody else? How's everyone doing with running?

I took a little hiatus when I went on my trip, but I'm back at it now. I'm doing week 4 now, and it's not too bad. My running partner is just starting to be able to do week 4, so that's what we're working on now.
I'm also doing Turbo Jam workouts in the mornings while the little one naps. That will probably stop once I go back to work next month.

Still having trouble eating. I'm not going crazy, just not doing as well as I should be. Ugh.

Yesterday I did Leslie Sansone's 3 Mile Weight Loss DVD and 30 minutes on the exercise bike.

Kat --- 20 min is a good start. That's where I started when I was getting back into the swing of things.

"They" say that getting your heart rate up for 20 min a day is considered healthy and enough to kickstart your metabolism. So ... if walking gets your heartrate up, then walk for 20 min.

I ran last night for the first time in about 2 weeks. Oh my goodness it was so hard. Didn't help that i was dehydrated (I gotta figure out how to get water for my runs.....) and it is in the 90s again. Why didn't I run when it was 70 outside???? It's triple digits this weekend. I may forego the running and stick to my yoga. Tonight's a yoga night anyway.

On the plus side ... my knees are doing really well for me.

I just did Leslie Sansone's Walk Strong this morning. Dh bought a new, to us, tv and we're still trying to figure it out. Leslie sounded like Daisy Duck and everyone looked like they'd put on 40 pounds.

I'm still at it, down about 15lbs total since January. I took two weeks off from exercise while I was at my parents(although we walked and shopped A TON), but I kept up with my eating and maintained my weight. I meet with the trainer tomorrow, I think. I need to call him and double check the schedule... He is "free" since we go to the gym(he is properly certified and everything) so I will do two weeks of training with him, then six weeks on my own, then back to him for two weeks... wash, rinse, repeat.

Just weighed in, down another #1.4. My goal is to average 1.5/week with diet and exercise. That way I hope to be losing mostly fat, not muscle.

I have gotten to the gym to run two times this week. Yeah! I am going to go tomorrow, so that makes 3 runs. And one night my husband I took a 30 min walk.

I am eating on plan. I lost 1.8 lbs from last week.

Monday was my first run after 1 week off, and it was hard and I was so sore for 2 days. That has never happened before.

I'm on hiatus. I had plans to start again, but things are really hectic right now. I do have a "map" of my run in my head...so I think I'll add that to my morning routine next week.

No, I must STOP thinking and DO it. Oh...and no more ice cream at night....

I've been bad about eating AND running.
>DH has been out of town all week< so I've been doing lots of other things and not getting to the gym. I think I got burned out on the c25k- I really wasn't liking the Christian Indie tracks for week 4, and it was making me not want to run. I need to try a different set of tracks for a while I think. I've also been eating just whatever since I'm only cooking for myself. We're still considering starting South Beach soon- I'm leaving the final decision up to DH.

I've totally fallen off the C25K bandwagon and need to get back on. I terrified of what I'll look like if I keep eating well, but don't start exercising too (can we say flabby-city?).

I GOT INTO MY SIZE 16 JEANS TODAY!!! And no muffin top when I'm standing! I spill over a little in the front when I'm sitting down, but they're still pretty comfortable. WOO HOO!

I stepped on the scale this morning (unofficially, the real weigh in day is Sunday) and I'm down a total of 11 pounds in the three weeks I've been doing South Beach. I've gotta say that I'm feeling TONS better too. That afternoon energy slump is almost non-existent now and junk food is less and less appealing.

Kat, do you have the south beach book, or where are you getting your information? I have the GI book, but I'm not doing very well it's sticking with it. Maybe the south beach would be more doable for me.

Stacy, try Robert Ullrey's podcasts, I like his music a lot. I have listened to the indie tracks and didn't really like them. Do you know where to find all the other podcasts? They're on the C25 K website.

Well it's 11:00 AM and I haven't had breakfast yet so I better go get something good... Not sure what yet, but we'll see.

I like South Beach much better then the GI Diet. It's the most "doable" diet I have seen, there is a great website for it too... HERE it is, if you poke around their forums(I never bothered joining) you can find the lists of "safe" foods for phase one, plus lots of recipes. I never bothered buying the book because that website had all the info.

I'm tired of the music in mine too; so I've thought about making my own. They list the intervals ... I can put together a few list of songs that do that. I probably wouldn't have time to do it if I were still in teh earlier weeks, but now that I'm doing like 8 min running and 3 min walking, it should be pretty easy to put music to that.

I dunno.

Maybe I can play with that tonight.

I like the south beach too. But I am doing more strick right now to help take some lbs off. I need to go buy the book too.

I went to a baseball game, and did not stick to my plan. But I only ate some popcorn, and then some peanuts, so I did not pig out, so that is good. (buy me some peanuts & cracker jacks...........)

I agree, I am excited about going to the gym tonight and running.

I have an off the wall question, is there a virus that just makes you tired? Last week I was so tired. Like Mono tired. No fever, just tired. Thurday was my first really good feeling day in like 1 1/2 weeks. I thought it was from lack of sleep from camping, then having my period right after. But last weekend I slept until 10am on Sat & Sun, and I still couldn't hardly function. But then the past 3 days my husband has been complaining of the same thing, so now I am thinking it could be a virus. Just enver heard of anything like that before.

Any illness will make you tired. It's your body fighting the infection.

But not getting the right nutrients will make you tired too. I know if I don't get my protein during the day I am falling asleep by the time to go home.

Pregnancy also makes you tired.

I think popcorn and peanuts in and of themselves aren't all bad ... just gotta watch teh butter and salt.

I agree that fatigue is just the general symptom that something is wrong, although it could be a thyroid issue or any other medical problem.

It wouldn't hurt to get your blood drawn if you don't feel better soon.

I think I have a thyroid problem, but my number is 3.2, not high enough for them to do anything yet. I am going to keep getting it tested every 6 months though. I have all the symptoms, but the TSH. :(

Anyway, thanks! I have never been that tired, then thought it was weird that my husband was the same way a week later.
