I think this will be a good place to post my workouts. Today I used used Cardio Coach Volume 7 on the elliptical machine for 35 minutes and had a nice 5 minute relaxing stretch. Tonight I will probably get more exercise in during VBS recreation time.

What is your ultimate goal for your body? To be a strong, sexy mama and wife. To hike a 14'er, run another 10k, and maybe do a triathlon/team triathlon. quote:
Do you have a plan to get there, or are you looking for one? I am starting the Couch 2 5K program this week or next, and I'll do some basic weight training as well to develop my core again. quote:
Do you have a time line you're working in to be 'in shape' by? My goal right now is to be completely back to my pre-preg weight by Gabby's first birthday in August. quote:
Do you have mini-goals set up along the way for yourself? I have a couple, my first one is to solidly drop below 160lbs. I have done it, but my weight tends to fluctuate and I want it to read below that number for a week or two before I check it off my list. My goal after that is to run solidly for 20minutes without walking.

My husband would like me to lose weight. He doesn't make a big deal about it, but I know it would make him happy if I did. I haven't tried nearly as hard as I should because he is overweight, too, and I think part of me thinks "why should I lose weight if he won't?" I know that's a bad attitude to have and I need to get over it What is your ultimate goal for your body? To be healthier. I have asthma and the extra weight doesn't help that any. I will never be skinny, but there's no reason for me to weight as much as I do. I eat too much junk and not enough nutritious foods, plain and simple. Do you have a plan to get there, or are you looking for one? I need to eat less sweets and stop eating when I'm full. You'd think that wouldn't be as hard as I make it Do you have a time line you're working in to be 'in shape' by? Not really. If you aren't able to start working out now (pregnant mommas!! ) when do you intend to start reaching your goal? I'm 3 months pregnant and I'm trying to eat healthier than I used to for the baby's sake as much as my own. I also want to try to exercise some this summer when school is out. I took belly dance lessons for about a year and I need to start practicing again. I'm pretty limited on what I can do, physically, because my asthma is so bad, but there are still things I can do and I can't use the asthma as an excuse forever Do you have mini-goals set up along the way for yourself? Right now, being pregnant, I just want to make sure that I gain baby-weight and not cookie-weight After the baby is born, we'll see how things stand.

What is your ultimate goal for your body? Be Healthy and Get in shape. Where I can be more active, and do things with my fiance... and some day our future kids. Do you have a plan to get there, or are you looking for one? Both... I sorta have a plan at the moment but I always look for better ones... Do you have a time line you're working in to be 'in shape' by? well I would like to get in shape and loose some and look like I used to... I want to look good for my wedding too ^_- Do you have mini-goals set up along the way for yourself? Yes I guess you could say that... every step i take with exercise seems to be a mini goal... like for an example...I started out with doing 30min of walking and then to 30 mins of running/walking.... one day I want to be able to run... for 20mins or so. --> trying to eat healthy thats another one..... and cut back on sweets and soda.

This will be fun! I'll answer the questions and then tell the story of my crazy 6 year journey...so bear with me... quote:
ORIGINAL: paulsbride What is your ultimate goal for your body? Ultimately - this. Or this. That's the same person - and it's not me! She's a neat lady who's posted a lot of advice and articles on a couple sites I like. I'm currently doing one of her workout programs. quote:
Do you have a plan to get there, or are you looking for one? Like I said, I'm doing this workout program and carb cycling. I'm fluctuating between 1300-1700 calories with 188g proten, 32g fat, and 65g-165g carbs/day. I could give the gory details if anyone is interested. I'm also a big nerd who makes charts and lists. quote:
Do you have a time line you're working in to be 'in shape' by? We host an annual 4th of July party. My dh is working with a big bodybuilder friend of his to get ready for this party. So I'm working my booty off with that date in mind myself. I really need to lose another inch or two at my belly. If/when I can do that, everything else falls into place so that's my focus. I rarely weigh myself. quote:
If you aren't able to start working out now (pregnant mommas!! ) when do you intend to start reaching your goal? Been there, done that. I wasn't real fitness minded when I was pregnant though - I just got FAT. My reality check was when ds was about a year old. quote:
Do you have mini-goals set up along the way for yourself? Just 4th of July. ...I've been at this a while and I've taken it in baby steps. I hated working out. Never was much of an issue for me until I had two kids 15 months apart and got up to about 160 (I'm short and small boned; most of the women in my family are about 95lbs.). My friend dragged me to the gym and I got hooked! It was my only social outlet being home with a toddler and a baby at the time. But I was still a piggy piggy. Finally went on WW and did great! I lost about 30 pounds but learned how to eat 19 pts/day and it all be junk food. I got stuck. I was thinner but not much healthier. I finally got onto Body for Life and broke through and got down to low 120s. I even taught myself to eat broccoli! When I was on WW I used to give myself an extra point every time I ate broccoli!! It was hard to maintain, though. Maintenance, IMO, is harder than losing!! I've bounced around there for a few years, learning more and more and getting more and more serious about fitness and my health in baby steps. I'm now a group fitness (step, yoga, etc) instructor. I'd love to become a personal trainer but haven't taken the time to get the credentials. If anyone is to the point of wanting to really commit and take it to the next level, I'd be happy to crunch numbers with you and help make a plan. I love to help and encourage people but I think it's a process for everyone. You can't jump in at Bodybuilder Plan A - unless you've got a truly overboard personality. Baby steps sometimes get you there like a tortoise rather than a hare - the hare too often just gains the weight back anyway! quote:

Working in a gym I saw several women with that build, but I think I prefer something more feminine. Actually, having been a runner for so long I know what I would like to achieve, it's just a matter of doing so.

I think it's just impressive! I'd like to attain that I have no illusions about being able to maintain that, though. She really doesn't maintain that all the time either, that's really the in-season competition look.

ORIGINAL: Mrs.Wifey It is hard to maintain, and EXPENSIVE. Oh, it is impressive especially knowing how hard you have to work to achieve that build. Btw, I am highly experienced in the world of running so if anyone has questions about that I am more then willing to help Someone above mentioned Couch to 5K. I did that a couple years ago and I did work up to 5K. I also lost a lot of fat that way! But it hurt too much. I live for sore muscles. But that was my joints - knees, ankles, back. I'm just too old for running. My dh has joints of steel - he can run and run. I wish I could. I had actually started to enjoy it. It's so effective when you're trying to lose fat, though!!!
