From a high of $3.69 post Ike to the standard of $3.39 now. I have seen a few at $3.27 also. Some shortages in the mid-grade and premium blends though.

Our grocery store has been offering lots of specials to earn extra gas points. I just filled up my van (which was empty: I put in $2 to get to work this AM before going shopping) for $2.09 a gallon for less than $37

Well we are at 3.51! Wow! I did not think it would get under 3.50 again, and it looks like it will.

It is still $3.99 a gallon for the cheapest here, and a lot of stations are out of gas.

I have to say that when I was looking at a new position, I looked on line to find a person to commute with. This will be come a regular part of my life until I find something really close to home.

We did not cut out spending, but now that the economy has gone crazy, we have decided to cut back, and not make some purchases until we know that things are a little more secure. Only buy what we need, not the wants.

As one president, OH SO LONG AGO said quite often, "I feel your pain"....

I commute 45 minutes, 35 miles each way. would love to have the option of mass transit, or someone who lives near me to car pool with. But, I live in Dallas, my job is in Fort Worth. Most everyone here at the office lives on "this side of the world"....

Plus, "carpooling" with someone wouldn't be easy for me.....some days I get up, and can be here for 7am...other days, I have an errand, and don't get here until 9 or later.
Same with leaving. My brain just doesn't "turn off" at 5 pm. Some days the "creative juices" are flowing, and I don't find a good "stopping point" until 6:00pm....sometimes, I just pack up and leave at 4:30pm, if I have done what I wanted to get done for the day, and I came to a good "stopping point".....

and, then, somedays, if i have a project "on press" with a printer, I may drive out there and do a "press check"....sometimes it's around lunchtime....other times it's around 3pm, and I am there until after 7.

very erratic "schedule"....can't be easily "contained" to fit into someone else's "schedule....

The cheapest we've found it is $3.41, which we're pretty excited about, but I'm jealous of you all who are buying it for $3.19!

I felt the same way. That is why I usually only carpool about 3 days a week. That gives me other days to do things my way, and on my carpool days I just go home and finish at home, if need be.

That's Texas for you. It's always one of the cheapest if not the cheapest most of the time.

I DO miss that. It is absurd what we pay up here in Colorado, but hey, I guess that's part of the price to live in this kind of beauty. I literally have to catch my breath sometimes at the things I see. The Lord's majesty is so evident. I try to remind myself of that when I put gas in my vehicle.

I'm not in TX but south central PA. I'm not quite as low as TX but at 3.35 we are one of the lowest here I think.

Pennsylvania, Oklahoma and a couple of others are typically lower than the national average.

Wow, that's pretty low for that neck of the woods. Ours is still not that low. But hey, I'm walking more and riding a bike more. I've actually lost a few pounds. Much as I would like to think I would be doing that to the degree I am now, I know I wouldn't if the gas were cheaper. So for me there is a silver lining.

Not only is gas still not dropping in price here, but many of our rural and smaller stations STILL don't have gas. So in smaller towns it's still over $4 per gallon.

$3.44 here in Indiana today, although at the stations nearer the freeway it was between $3.48 and $3.53! Hubby told me tho, that he heard today while he and youngest ds were out selling boy scout popcorn, that prices in places in Minnesota were closer to the $3.00 mark!!!

Hopefully this means the natural gas prices will stay lower this winter too!

Blessings,

Garsy

Wow... A four to seven hour color check? Either you are too picky a designer or the printers you use are really bad. No way I'd have a customer stick around for four hours unless they were from out of town and had a short run with multiple forms that they needed to see each one. Even at that when it got to be past their bedtime they would give me the go ahead to match the proofs while they hit the hay.

But on the coping with gas prices, I paid $3.18 Friday and the norm is now down to that price. Think it'll hit below $3.00?

looks like we'll be seeing below $3.00 VERY soon....the price of oil is dropping, along with everything else...(those gas stations that had $3.19 on Friday morning, were down to $3.13 on Friday evening on the way home)...

press checks???hmmm....it depends on the nature of the job. I usually run sheet-fed, so, its' an hour or so (depending on the size of the job) in between checks...
Actually, the printer I work with are really good....very rarely do I have to make them adjust anything....(and, I don't typically bother with press checks, except for a few projects that I just need to make sure are PERFECT)....
I get plenty of work done in between checks, anyway....it's MY choice that I stick around...just so I can sleep at night KNOWING that the color and everything else came out perfect...
