Didn't go anywhere yesterday, but saw it for $3.73 on Tuesday. Don't know if I'll get by a station tomorrow or not, I don't have to pass any on my way to school and I don't think I have to run to the pharmacy or grocery tomorrow.

I'll take a tissue too. It's only down to about $4.02 on the Western Slope of Colorado. I'm in Texas right now, and I'm not surprised the prices are so "cheap." But then the groceries prices are a lot cheaper here too. I pay about $4 a gallon for milk back in CO. Ugh. Bread is about $3.50 back there. I finally broke out my breadmaker a few months ago.
I guess that's the price for living in such a beautiful place. Sometimes I could do with a little ugly. KWIM?

Wow! That is cheap, it costs me $55 and my husband $60, so that is $110 for the week.
Lucky he does not use a full tank every week. But he figured in town her is getting 14 MPG. Yikes!

It has been a relief to see gas prices making their way down, how long they stay this way is anyone's guess, but regardless it is a blessing. Around we have seen gas anywhere from $3.67 - $3.80 which is nice when they were hovering right at $4.00 last month. Hope they continue to go down...one can hope can't they?

They always do go down this time of year, though, and then shoot up even higher the next year. So while it's nice and I'm not complaining, I'm hesitant to get too excited.

I've hardly been in a car this summer as compared with last summer. I walk or ride a bike, and try to carpool as much as possible. It galls me to pay those prices.

It was pointed out that when the discussion on opening up offshore drilling started to get serious that the oil/gas prices dropped. With continued pressure on Congress to allow this drilling and their finally DOING something about it the price we are paying at the pump might stay down below $4/gallon for a while.
The best I saw gas at was $3.52 this weekend. That was after I filled up at $3.56. 
When the temps are in the high 90's and the humidity is killer and while living out in the country walking, bikes and carpooling isn't an option for us. All we can do is try to consolidate trips to town getting as much done with each trip.

I'm in the Dallas area right now, and I could not walk or ride here. I could ride the bus, but unfortunately bus service doesn't come to the parts of town where I am or most want to go.
The problem with where I live in Colorado is just going to the grocery store (other than the very small grocery store in town) is 34 miles round trip at a minimum, and going to places like Home Depot or Sam's, or just to buy school clothes, requires traveling 2-1/2 hours to Grand Junction or 3-1/2 hours to Denver. So it's not a cake walk, but like I said, that's the price we pay to have deer and antelope right out the window. We're also blessed that my husband works a block away from home. He walks to work every day and has for years before the gas situation. However, he also deals with people up and down this valley, which means his potential driving distance spans two counties. That is daunting when it comes to gas prices, so he tries to be very wise about how he does that.
Frankly, I don't know how some people are making it with the gas prices or the groceries prices.

The station where I got gas at $3.56 a few days ago is now at $3.49.
I don't think I'll hold my breath for it to hit $1.99 again...

You may not believe it, but fuel is more affordable than it was during the early '60s.

are you referring to the fact that we know MANY people who do not cook for their family at home (even though the mom is a "stay at home mom"....the kitchen is full of SubZero and Miele and/or Wolf appliances, but doesn't really get used....)? Must be some "disposable income" there....
That we, as an entire family, typically eat out 3-4 times a week (and we're not talking McDonalds....).....and, on a typical Tuesday or other weekday night, have to WAIT 10+ mins. for a table most anywhere we go?.....
When we go to our local Ballpark (Frisco Roughriders baseball...minor league team) this Thursday.....and, I can guarantee you 90% attendance, at least......primarily young families....with a mix of other "demographics", as well...(more than half of all games are total sellouts)
We go to the malls (at least 8 that I can count....within a 20 or so minute drive from our house)....and they are FULL....and people are BUYING....on ANY given weekend....and many weekdays, as well (my wife takes the kids during the week sometimes)....
I stop at my neighborhood Starbucks once...sometimes twice a week....around 6:30 in the morning as I head out for my 32-mile commute.....I can count on 4-5 people being in line in front of me, at least.....and people streaming in (not to mention the drive thru line wrapping around the building)....but I, personally, can't stand drive thrus....
so, sure...many people have a bit less "disposable" income than before because of the gas they are buying. Even when gas was $1.50/gal. there were people out there struggling to buy gas (I know I was.....at that time!!!!)....
but, in large....gas is certainly more 'affordable' than it was back then....there are vastly more people who are "affluent"......and, for many others, it's more that they don't WANT to spend a bit more of their "disposable income" on gas.....not that they can't.....

OK, This is so exciting. Gas hit 3.99 at one gas station in CA! WhoHoo! I am not holding out for 1.99, but maybe closer to 3.00.
I agree with you. My husband is always commenting when we go out that there has never been a dip in the number of people at the mall or eating out.

Well, we cook all our meals at home with the frying pans, toaster and we will use the oven. What are SubZero, Miele and Wolf appliances? Oh, we DO have a microwave. Maybe that was bought with the disposable income we seem to have according to some.
We might be able to eat out 3 or 4 times a year if the money's right... Ball games? Not for this family... Do the have a WalMart in any of the malls? I know the one we go to is a stand alone store... My coffee is strictly home brewed with the brand that's on sale at the above mentioned store. I take a thermos full of it in to work with me...
Maybe I should have gone into the design aspect of printing instead of the operations side...
BUT - that wasn't why I logged on tonight. I wanted to tell about the gas war we had here in town. How low will they go? Last I heard it got to 2.34...

My SIL just moved to Houston and sent me a text message that said that is how low they are there.
I live in CA and was excited to find it for $3.85 today.
