I'm not such a big fan of hard rock, but my hubby is. I'd like to find some hard rock christian music that he might like in hopes to influence him.

His favorite bands are System of a Down (definetely his fav), Tool, Gorillaz, Korn, Megadeath, Nickelback, Linkin Park....sounds like that.

He also likes the screaming loud, guitar makes your ears hurt kinda stuff too, but I forget the names. Like the angry kind.

Thanks for your help. If you have a link to the band's website at easy access for you, that would be nice too. Otherwise, I can find them myself on iTunes or wherever.

This is my wife commenting. I grew up on only Christian music. I was not allowed to listen to anything else. When I married 1970rodney, he listened to country music & some heavy metal. I would get really upset at him and preach to him about it . I was not getting anywhere. Then the Lord convicted me about preaching to him and the Lord told me to pray about the situation. It took awhile, but after lots of praying, God intervened. Now the only thing that plays in our house is music that talks about Jesus. 1970rodney and our son (14yrs) listen to some contemporary music I am not pleased with but it can be understood (Switchfoot & Kutless). Don't preach, just pray & make sure your heart is where it needs to be with the Lord. You are in my prayers. The gospel is not to argued it is to be shared.

I think one of the best groups is Kutless.

to have a variety would go with the "X" cd's. the heavier version of WOW.

if want some good hard rock, go for Petra pre-praise days. same as Newboys.

Skillet

Seventh Day Slumber

just some suggestions

Sweet, thanks folks! There's a lot out there.

Mrs. 1970rodney, in response to your post. I do follow 2 Peter in that sense, hoping he can be won over without a word. I was hoping to just DL a few songs from iTunes or listen to them on myspace while he is around and hope he asks me what band it is and maybe takes an interest in them. I do have to draw the line at Marilyn Manson and Godsmack though. And, he won't listen to them around me or the kids voluntarily because he doesn't want the music to offend me.

OK, I'm gonna go check out these bands on myspace now. Thank you all!

Ok. That's just a short, almost alphabetized list, of some of the bands that I listen to that seems to fit into your likings. If you can't find something new in there. . . well, I will just be impressed.

*edited to remove already mentioned bands*

**Special note and shameless advertising time! My friends' band just got a deal with Tooth and Nail to play onstage at Cornerstone! They should be right up your alley. Check Nihilio out here!**

Three bands that have a "older" hard rock feel IMO are Alter Bridge (ex-Creed guys). DecembeRadio and Fighting Instinct. If your hubby likes guitar solos, the new Alter Bridge CD "Blackbird" is a must buy!!

I tried searching for that band and was sent to two bands, one was a blues trio and the other was a rock n roll cover band. Is one of these the one you are talking about or is there a third?

Ahahaha! No! I just have a really large CD collection. I'm a big Rock/Alternative music fan myself. Oh, and I love rap too.

Might I also recommend getting your husband these CDs, they are they 'X' collection. It's basically a compilation Christian rock music. I have X2004, 2005, and 2006.

Thanks I missed GoldieLoxRox's link. They remind me of early Motley Crue a la "Too Fast For Love" album without the objectionable lyrics of couse!

Well back to head banging!
