Re: OP - Yes I have noticed that God created other people as well as Adam and Eve in the account of Genesis. In His wisdom, God focusses on Adam and Eve and I have no problem with this. hat happened to the others? They were amongst those who were drowned in the great flood.

Hi Little1 I think they went on to replenish the earth whilst Adam was told to stay in Eden with God. They later went to build Babel and I suspect, became all the gentile nations after their language was confounded. I have difficulty believing the flood was universal, as that would mean the children of Noah would have had to commit incest, and we know that is Biblically unlawful and also the offspring of Cain, were also around after the flood, which wouldn't be possible if the flood was universal. What do you think ? Blessings

Incest was not unlawful until the law was given in Moses' day. Even Abraham married his half-sister and was not criticized for it.

They later went to build Babel and I suspect, became all the gentile nations after their language was confounded. Where do you get this babble? Babel was built by Noah’s descendents. Nimrod was Noah’s great grandson. ALL nations are descended from Noah via one of his three sons. Gentiles are simply those who are not Hebrew. quote:
the children of Noah would have had to commit incest, Noah’s sons already had wives before the flood. Most people who want to jump on the incest thing question where Adam and Eve’s children got spouses. While people today view incest as a moral issue, technically it isn’t. It was originally instituted for genetic reasons. quote:
also the offspring of Cain, were also around after the flood, which wouldn't be possible if the flood was universal. What “offspring of Cain” were around after the flood?

Right, the law was given for our own benefit. Incest may seem icky in our day, but marrying one's sister even today would only give a greater chance of the expression of harmful mutations, it still doesn't guarentee it. Back when we had far less mutations to place us at risk, it wouldn't have been any problem at all, and such a law would be nonsense.
