You are so special and ecouraging, I prsyed along time for you, and all my friends on this thread. You are so right all things work togather for good. The enemy wants to make us feel defeated, I have seen people with this spirit, their stooped shoulders and anxiety ridden faces. My husband tells me to smile, he told me God made me to smile. I was in wal-mart one day, walking around, i guess with an anixous look on my face, when, a man a little rough lookings , bumped my basket with his, I did not know him, never had seen him. He said " Things would be better whusband when you smile." I fiqured my husband was right. I guess it is rejoice in the Lord always verse. I Thank You, all of you for making my day a whole lot brighter. Here is my cyper smile for all of you, I love and wil continue to pray for. Here is another one (LOL) quote:
ORIGINAL: Little_1 Managed to order a copy of Hinds Feet on High Places - should arrive early next week. Lightshineon - thank you for your encouraging words. We all need encouragement from time-to-time. I don't know your situation but I know the One who does and although I don't know why you are going through what you are - He definately does. There are times during our lives when we we think God must have forgotten us but that is okay because our mixed up thinking doesn't stop God being God. There are also times when we feel 'disconnected' from our circumstances and from what is going on around about us - that is okay too. 'Feelings' don't stop God being God either and neither can they separate us from Him thankfully. I had to remind myself about this often during these past months on many occasions and I know God doesn't love me any less for this - I know He knew my pain and confusion. There have also been times when I thought my heart would burst from the overwhelming situation we are going through. There have been tears and there were questions (at the start) and from a human point of view - we are out 'on a limb' and there is noone to talk to who has been through similar, but thankfully - there is One who knew what was going to happen and He had already gone before us and prepared it to work for good. God went before and He already knows the outcome and like ourselves - He is preparing good to come out of your situation also. My hubby has become a Christian since the accident (if you had told me hubby would trust the Lord as his Saviour a year ago - I'd have been very sceptical and no doubt said "no way")! I just never imagined it! My own walk with God has deepened and grown more in 8 months I believe than in the whole of the 20 odd years I have been a Christian! The opportunities to share that we are trusting in the Lord with non believers have been many. I take every opportunity I can now where I had become timid and reserved for many years previous. If you had told me a year or so ago that we would face our present situation I would definately have wanted to run as fast and as far away as I could to try and prevent the accident from happening; however today, I am learning to take each day as it comes. Some days are presenting 'big' challenges and others are easier. To look ahead any further is just too much to take onboard but deep down in my heart - I just know God has more good to come out of this situation - more souls to bless and I have a peace which only God can give because it is not 'natural' in these circumstances - it is supernatural! I am sure you are the same. There are days when fear grips you but somehow - God always sends His light to steady you on. There is a Word of refreshing here and there and it gives you hope to keep on and deep down in your heart you have this peace which in your circumstances is not natural. That is the supernatural peace God gives - not as the world gives but as your Papa gives. Rest in this peace when you can. It will strengthen you for the next part of the pathway. Lightshineon - there are very many of us praying for you. You are much loved on this site by many and I have grown very fond of you likewise. I believe the Lord gives you a love for others when you pray for them. You too will encourage others with the encouragement which you receive through all this. Right now you may need to rest a while and gain strength and that is okay - we need these seasons in life and often they can bring much unexpected blessing.

ORIGINAL: Little_1 Thank you for your prayers lightshineon. It is not so easy to pray for others when we are going through difficulties and it is a real blessing to see you do this. You are so right when you say that the enemy wants nothing better than to see us defeated. He is defeated himself and wants us to join him in his misery but thanks be to God who gives us the victory through Jesus Christ our Lord and we don't have to be defeated - i.e. we can choose not to and instead trust in the Lord who gives us victory to overcome every assault the enemy sends our way. ((((((( Hallelujah ))))))) God is growing our faith muscles. It is better to walk by faith and not by sight and sometimes we have to raise our faith banners as we go into spiritual battle and just hang in there and wait/trust in God to deliver us. He will never let His righteous be put to shame by doing so and that is His promise: Psalm 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Also, this UK bank holiday monday, a text which the Lord has laid on my mind is: Mark 6:30-32 30 The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught. 31 Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest." 32 So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place...... ......Sometimes it is good just to get away for a while to some place different and quiet just so that we can re-charge our batteries and gain some strength for the next part of the path God may lead us. Take full advantage of such opportunities - they may not happen often and remember - the Lord encourages us to take them...... P.S. I have been reading 'Hinds Feet on High Places' by Hannah Hurnard and it is brilliant. It is an allergory (much like 'Pilgrim's Progress' by John Bunyan). I have got to Chapter 5 and I am amazed because it is just so relevant - Hannah could have been watching over my shoulder when she wrote this. I highly recommend this book and so far give it 10/10. Ignited-Faith - I am very grateful to you for pointing this book out to me. Thank you again.

I thought I would have finished the book this weekend Ignited-Faith as I read quite quickly but I have to keep putting it down to consider what I have just read. There is a lot of good teaching in this allergory. I would say it is a classic - just like Pilgrim's Progress. I notice Hannah has another book written called 'Mountain of Spices' - based on the fruit of the Spirit. Has anyone read it?

I love this verse for, perhaps a little different reason as I see the need in my life. Isn't it wonderful that He meets us each as individuals in our invidual needs? He is so intimate with us Jesus, already knew everything that happened. But, yet the apostles gathered around Him and shared with Him everything. I am not good at sharing everything, the good or the painful with Him. But I am working on it. He wants to hear everything from us, don't you think? Now how special is that Thank you, Little_1 for sharing that verse! Where is everyone else? Maybe, we will have to do a roll-call?

But I'd still recommend you find Hannah Hurnard's autobiography, Hearing Heart. What a story she has to tell! And what encouragement! Anyway, I'm glad to hear you're enjoying Hinds' Feet. It's been many years since I've read all of these. I may have to reread them because of our discussion here.

Little1, You remind me of my little Sister! She read the book in less than a week! I think it took me a few years! A Lady I met who I found to be a very strong Christian one day told me that she started to build a "Christian Library" for her family. I thought it was a great idea and wanted to start one for my family! I asked her what book she recommended that I start with? Her answer was: "Hinds Feet on High Places!" I actually bought 3 books, one for each of my Daughters! (This was about 5 years ago. Now I have 2 bookshelves full of great Christian Books!) I find many at Garage Sales! Good Books are a great treasure!)

I was cleaning out my closet. I found a drawing my daugher had made when she was little. (She is now 20.) It shows a cross on a hill. Next to the cross is a little lamb with it's one ear perked up as if to listen. A thought balloon is above the little lamb that reads: "I love Jesus!" Below it is the Scripture: "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Romans 10:17 (I just had to hang it up on the refrigerator!)

Thank you, Ignited, for sharing your story. Yes, we are all little lambs who need to be listening for His voice. He is speaking. And He is listening for our response. I have a silly little story about 'me' to share. I won't bore you with all the details but I'm a 53 year old woman so that may enlighten some of you to what my 'nights' are like. Plus I recently injured my knee so have been dealing with some pain. Anyway, I went to bed (midnight) and when I woke, I said, "Thank You, Lord, for giving me a solid night's sleep!" Got up to visit the bathroom and looked at the clock. It was 1:20am. I'd slept probably all of an hour! Silly me. But I was pleased that my first thought was thankfulness. An hour of sleep is a precious thing. So thank You, Lord!

I have just been printing off many scriptures re: faith and am going to add them to some others I printed off not so long ago. Thank you Ignited-Faith. P.S. Ignited-Faith - you would love my email address

Little1, quote:
(one of many stressful days on the horizon). Here is what you need to remember! "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7 I love how Beth Moore said it, something like this: 'This may be going on in your life..., and this... and this...' (Then she pointed to the ceiling and shouted) "BUT THERE'S GOD!!!" (Keeping you and your Husband covered in prayer, Little1)
