This is a personal thread, not a thread in the morality and ethics folder.

Your postings haven't argued that they are wrong; but instead of participating in the discussion, all you're doing is questioning individuals repeatedly about their posts and attitudes.

Es geht.

Farouk--if you want to participate, you might start by telling us why you are so fascinated with tattoos and piercings. They seem to be the only threads you post in. Participation is give and take...you know, an ongoing conversation, not an interview.

I saw it on another website, but I can't remember where it was. I think it might have been for Manchester United FC? It's true, anyway. I work at a community college and I can tell you for a fact that a full 80% of students require some remediation when they arrive here. IOW, they have to take developmental courses in reading, writing and/or math before we can enroll them in college-level courses with any success.

S:

Im bowing out of here, but look up the hymn thread I have started; lots of participants already.

Take care.

iwillfearnoevil: by the way, just for the record, I have never argued in favor of nudism.

Ooops--- Wrong thread. Though me and Jeannie might just need a thread like that. I need'a glass a water!

hehehehehehe!

I love the sig quote too Stella.

My 18yo blew the reading and english sections of the Accuplacer clean outta the water but did not fair so well in the math. She needs *ahem* two remedial maths. The good news is that they offer a program in the summer for a math crash course then sign to allow them to retest.

I say that we are either math based or literature based life forms and she is most definitely a literature based life form.

I think there is some truth to that. I got by in math, but I excelled in literature and grammar. I think I'd like to take the Accuplacer tests, just to see how I'd do.

For the record, I'm highly critical of our education system. I have no children, so a lot of people think I should shut up already!

A tattoo observation:
I was bitten by a mosquito tonight during my fabulous awesome run and the bite fell on the edge of one of my tattoos. The whole thing promptly raised up. Most people I know experience this during allergic reactions, sun exposure sometimes, sometimes illness. During allergy season it is not uncommon for all of my tattoos to raise at the same time, alerting me to the fact that I need to take a Zyrtec. I guess it's handy, even if it is unsettling the first few times it happens.

We homeschool. I believe we are doing a good job--- Eldest graduated in May after 11 years homeschooling with 17 credit hours (carrying a 4.0 ave) at the local community college. My #2 daughter started this semester- she is taking 7 Credit hours this semester on Dual/Concurrent enrollment. I LOVE this! She is taking Drawing I, Digital Photography I, and Chorus I this semester. She will likely do the II for all of those next semester. #2 daughter is an Artsy type too and is spending a lot of time in the Art Dept. with the rest of us nuts. She has met the young man with the grommets, tats, et al and they had a good chat about what the art dept offers. The fella graduates next fall. it was a blessing to see my daughter able to sit and chat with someone and not just walk by staring at the hardware...

That is awesome, Ez. I hope my children have learned from having a "not so normal" mom how to accept people for WHO they are and give people a chance to get to know them....

On websites/discussions with informed, intelligent people more interested in facts and truth than ego-wrestling matches and Scripture tosses.

Like this one. Or this one.

And this one.

My bday was in July.

They were out front, but they're put away, now, for camping. I need to get the pink ones down, too, before they bleach out too much.

Oooo my fave kind of pet! the kind that don't EAT! I'd have to tie a pretty flamingo pink ribbon around one of their necks. You know a good 2 or 3 inch wide satiny thing... LOL!

edit to add- Oooo how bout a 3" wide pink with a 1" black ribbon in the center???

Those are GREAT!!!

Get some of that pink neon stripping around them for night time.

I love them! Tell him I said he did good!

Yep, my yard ones are faded to pastel pink - I need to get some paint to brighten them up.
