it matters very little what I, personally, have a problem with. One must account to Jesus for their ministry and home life. All will stand or fall to their Maker and Master. He, Alone, is the Light of The Word of God.

OK, then have a great day.

Hank judged others for living lavishly and he lived lavishly himself and was called on the carpet for it. As far as his program goes...I've yet to hear a caller who disagrees with him get, much time to consruct a decent rebuttal or given a chance to present their point in a timely manner. This, IMO, makes for a loop sided presentation of the facts and does not allow a listener to hear all argument to the contrary. I guess when dealing with time restraints, one is not afforded the opportunity to have constructive dialogue. My previous church owns a radio station in Cleveland and the Pastor had has sessions in which people can call in and discuss Bible doctrine or various topics.

You heard dialogue from both sides (some times it was heated)... sometimes Jehovah's Witness's, Muslims would call and of course people of different denominational persuasions and doctrinal difference would call. The calls were not screened, like Hank's are... It made good radio.

I'd listen to Hank and he'd discredit someone by throwing out huge, seminary/dictionary words and make the callers "feel" inept in the Biblical interpretation. Of course this is not always the case. I haven't listened to him in almost a year so I can't say it is like that now.

I agree with some of his views, the essentials... but I disagree with alot of his doctrinal stance and the way he deals with people who disagree him.

Do you really think that those supposable callers, calling in with questions are not preprogrammed?

Have you ever heard Hank without a well constructed answer to any question? And most of the time the answer just happens to be in one of his publications.

Sorry but any normal person would stumble every once in a while and no one is able to give a 30 minute dissertation to every question.

Don’t get me wrong…I really like to listen to Hank but I do have to wonder about those callers who are always on subject.

Bob

Like every other call talk show - the calls are screened.

Not true for everyone. If you listen to Steve Gregg on TheNarrowPath when you call the person that picks up the phone asks the following.

Do you have a question or comment for Steve?
What is you name?
What city and state are you calling from?

He doesn't ask you what the question or comment is. He just tells you were you fall in line for calls.

Steve's show is so different from Hank's. Steve lets people get lots of time to talk and make arguments. He has let people talk for like 10-15 minutes making points then he comments back.

Amen!! That's dialogue and if you don't see eye to eye, then agree to disagree and move on. Don't berate anyone or make them feel inept or less because

Bob Larson, at least, took on callers head on and did not screen calls, form the few segments I heard from him.

I must agree that Hank does pick and choose callers. I listen to him a lot and usually the callers all have similar questions as to the topic of the day. Sometimes he does take different type calls, but most are people questioning the authenticity of a cult leader. Hank will then play a clip or two that pretty much answers the question of authenticity. I rarely hear a caller that agrees with the cult (false teachers) leaders so I do believe the calls are screened very well.

I also have wondered about how Hank always has the correct Scripture immediately at hand when asked a question. I feel the program does line up the questions with answers ready to go on air.

The thing I like about thenarrowpath also is the fact that it is caller driven. There is no topic of the day format. If someone wants to call and talk about divorce Steve will take the time to go thru it as much as possible. Then the next caller can call and ask whether or not satan was an angel. Steve also isn't afraid to say I don't know the answer. He also encourages people with different views to call in because he may learn something. There is even an atheist caller that calls and Steve gives him airtime to talk.

Just playing _____'s advocate here.. but Hank (before CRI) was known for his tools on memorization. I believe he even has a guide on how to memorize text. More of it can be read about here

And yes, as others have noted, there are some other very good apologetic type programs as well. God bless them all for they are all sorely needed.
