Use Mandarin oranges. They're the perfect size and taste. They mix well with Balsamic vinegar, too.

Well Shema..is kind of a mix of chix and turkey texture but is a duck taste and depends how old the duck is can be hard meat, I love white meat of birds not the dark ones an goes to the breasts of them... I have to have it some day again..I do think you may find ducks at Chinese restorant because it may be a popular meat, you must try it. Yummy! Look:http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/2228/2279/1600/opato.jpg Some times depending on peoples recipes it comes out a dark dark duck. sauce...

Staying on topic, how long can meals stay in the fridge before they go bad? I have an issue with food that's more than a couple of days old. As a single, this often presents a problem.

As a single, this often presents a problem. That's a reason I don't buy a lot of fresh produce. I can never use it all up before it goes bad, and I hate throwing out food. I also get nervous when meals are in the fridge for more than about 3 days. They are probably ok, but you never know. Maybe heating them up for a long time would kill off any nasty things.

Butter is another thing. How long does it last in the fridge? I'm lucky if I use one stick a year, but you can't buy just one and you end up wasting the rest. Can it be frozen?

I may be living on the edge here, but I keep leftovers for a week or more. As long as they don't start having a bad smell then I can eat it. Speaking of keeping vegetables, does anyone use the keeping bags that they advertise on TV?

I can't help with this one. I'm a big baking enthusiast and always run out of butter. Maybe you could split a box with someone who also doesn't use a lot of it.

Vegetables and fruits don't stick around too long in my fridge anyway, though.

I would like to see a consumer report test on the product and then buy it in a store.

Yes, you can freeze butter just fine. I only keep a couple sticks in the fridge and the rest stays in the freezer until needed.

I imagine that you could locate many handy kitchen gadgets and appliances online that benefit single cookers. (How's that for staying on topic? )

The cookbook chart says up to 2 months, but I know plenty of people who've kept it in there 6 or so months (at least).
